You seem to automatically discard anything they say, and while I'd like to attribute that to a genuine concern for safety on your part, I can't help but get this image in my head of a self-righteous tool who can't handle being around people with egos as big as their own.

If you're so positive that he's a troll, what is to say of yourself, he who took the bait?

Is it not the case that most people disregard the things that Square has to say bc most people on the forum feel that he is nothing but a thorn in their side? Wouldn't it be quite hypocritical of him to disregard what everyone else says? I don't think he does this. He may go on incessantly of his own points, but there's reason.

And if Square were so concerned with his safety on this board, do you really think he would have p issed so many people off by his name calling and "other side of the fence" ideals?

And the reason that he can't stand other people with egos the size of his own is becaue they simply don't fit in the same room together. I thought everybody knew that already...?

who are you? geez. Way to call out the people on this board though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: No trolling going on here, just serious, yet unpopular, questions. I'm sorry you don't like them, but not sorry enough.

Elle, valid points made and received. I was merely calling out what appeared to be nothing more than "incessant making of points" in an environment that clearly wasn't receiving them well, while not doing anything about other people's own incessant points. It seemed as though both sides kept yelling at a brick wall hoping to get a real answer. Based on which side of said wall I fall on, I suppose I did take the bait and called him out as opposed to someone else. But I was never referring to his safety on this board. I was making comments to his attitude towards Bonfire being a result of safety concerns with the environment out there. As for the ego comments, I again wasn't talking about in here, but with the people involved with ASB. And your observation seems to confirm what I was thinking: that he doesn't like ASB/the people involved because his ego can't handle their's.

Also, I think I may have misinterpreted the operative definition of "troll" on texags. Enlighten me maybe? [/genuine question]

I don't think it's inherently evil that someone bring up safety concerns (I'm not asserting that you said that coop).

Healthy organizations seek discordant thoughts to better their practices. That's what keeps them out of trouble.

I think ASB is fairly safe, but I know of several things from first-hand experience that could be improved upon.

Maybe a public forum isn't the best place to entertain such discussions, but it's bound to happen. Such public discussions will likely assume that such private discussions don't take place -- being that private discussions aren't public. (How's that for circular logic?)

In any case, I hope that leadership will (continue to) evaluate safety procedures and seek opposing opinions. No one's perfect -- everything can be improved upon.

Why would a university take on so much liability?

i feel as if someone will be saying this same thing should, heaven forbid, Kyle Field collapse during the war hymn...."Why would A&M allow the students to sway like that?" you can't blame anyone for such a tragedy, you cant predict or really prepare for something like that. A&M was holding true to its traditions, regardless of what anyone thinks, those Aggies gave their lives for their school, and honestly i dont think any one of them would have regretted it. the bonfire of '99 should never be forgotten nor should the sacrifice those aggies made for the traditions they believed and the school they loved
