I heard that when the University announced Dirty Mo was to become coed, the bonfire boys decided the crew was done for. Having nothing to lose, they caused so much damage to the dorm that even after insurance kicked in, every resident had to pay $3,000 out of pocket.

Can anybody verify that this was something that legitimately happened?
If it did, this could have been one of the most redass things to ever happen at A&M.

(It seems that the University has removed all traces of Old Army bonfire communities from history. Cushing is even corrupt.)

I can neither confirm nor deny that the dorm common areas (hallways and bathroom) may or may not have been subjected to higher than average abuse. Particularly after the residents where made aware that they we were all be kicked out at the end of the semester. Along with that they wouldn't let more than 5-6 move in to any other dorm together. As far as additional payment after we moved out all I had to pay was $150.

Ok. I need a timeframe for when this transpired.

Well we were all notified that we were being blocked from selecting Moses as our dorm right before spring break 2007. Lets just say it was handled poorly by the university and that the current residents didn't agree with the universities' decision so they made it well known to the hall staff through actions taken within the dorm.

I am class of 97 and was Moses RAB in 94-95. We had a couple of mandatory meetings with the VP of student affairs because the hall was so rowdy. They said we had more damages than all the other dorms combined. I guess I'm not as redass as I used to be because i look back and realize we could have spent the energy better... but I can't help but smile at the memories...

Always had abandoned bikes hanging from the tree outside the side door. Toilets pulled out and tossed from upper floor windows. We made a slip-n-slide one night the entire length of the 1st floor hallway with trash bags when we had a major rain storm and lost power. My buddy got arrested for hacking an abandoned bike apart on his way back from stack with his axe. 3am first in to first cut. All trash bins turned over after every football win. It was crazy. No other non-reg dorm could touch it.

No one ever taught Moses folks the idea 'not to ****e where one eats'. I'm sure they learned after college?
But concerning
university crap in 2007,
I probably would have handled it the same.

On game weekends I would move the trash cans down a couple of doors.

You also missed stacking the trashcans in a pyramid and riding a bike through them. Roommate did that one and was out the door before the RA could step out to see what happened.

Allegedly.

FHK resident who overlooked moses 2004-2008

There were a lot of extracurricular construction/remodeling activities that took place ~2007 when ResLife attempted to behead the monster that was Moses RABs.

$3000 is probably a figure that has grown in history. It was likely closer to $150-$300

I can confirm there was a particular dorm room on the 2nd floor facing Moore Hall that was home to no students. There was a surveillance camera set up looking down on the entrance & benches that was the hangout spot.

I lived in Moses from 2002-2004. I'm generally regretful of the things I participated in during my time there.

The residents did receive bills for damages at the end of the semester. I think fall of 03 or spring of 04. It was about 60$ distributed evenly among all residents. So maybe $12,000 in total? Some of that damage was caused Moore residents

There's nothing glorious about it. Most had bad grades and weren't taking advantage of the opportunity that was available being on campus.

As I recall there were zero working bathrooms on the fourth floor because of "someones" bowling ball being thrown through everything.

The $3,000 figure is definitely inflated. I don't recall paying them anything, although they did ask. I think it was closer to $75.00, but I can't be certain. The Spring '07 semester was my last in Moses and on campus (3 years was more than enough!) and it was crazy.

I am the guy that in Oct '95, may or may not have broken their leg in an incident in the cut parking lot. Nothing like crawling up to the third floor at 7 AM on a Sunday, and have to crawl the length of the hallway through the previous evenings fun.

By the way, if your toes are point 180 degrees the wrong way, not only is the ankle royally sprained, something broke in the process too.

Lived in Moses my freshman and sophomore year. so Fall '95 through Spring '97. First year was luck of the draw, second year was because I was broke and it seemed like an economical choice and a known quantity. Around finals in May of '97, the place went all to hell. I think some of the rowdier residents had come to grips with the fact that they would not be returning in the Fall and took their frustration out on the plumbing fixtures.

Class of '89, RAB from Fall '85 through the Fall of '86, and loved it. It was rowdy with lots of dumbassery, but Davis Gary was by far the biggest collection of lunatics on campus. Believe it went to an all-girls dorm in the 90's, and sounds like Moses took in some of DG's best and brightest.

Moses RAB from '75 to graduation in '78. "Moses Hall! Red-A$$ *******s! Meanest M-F'ers on the Campus!" I can neither confirm or deny the porn movie projected on the sheet over the window with no blinds behind them on the 2nd floor, and whether or not Moore Hall and the quad watched and verbally expressed their pleasure of said reverse-image grode show.

I lived in Moses during the same years and would echo those sentiments (mostly). I'd love to see how many people from that group actually graduated...
