On November 26, 1999, just 8 days after the Bonfire collapse, the Aggies took on a No. 5 t.u. at Kyle Field. In the final minutes of the game the Aggies led 20-16. But texas was mounting a comeback drive. At midfield, the Fightin' Aggie Team showed the Rough, Tough, Real Stuff of Texas A&M and cracked the sip line, stormed the backfield, and stripped the ball from Major Applewhite. Brian Gamble was among the defenders behind that texas line, charging hard at Applewhite as the ball came loose. Diving on the ball, he secured the Aggie win that day.
