With heavy thunderstorms this weekend, will it turn the Bonfire site into a mudpit like last year and cause burn to be postponed? I hope not but had the thought since it'll be raining heavily for two straight days.

I was out there on Sunday night, and there wasn't very much mud.

Stack Site is solid. Very little mud left by Sunday's shift. What's left is fully dried out. The problem last year was a) there was a huge amount of rain b) that came near non-stop over many days. It's a solid, well-draining piece of land that caught a nasty surprise.

So this year: top flight.

Whats the best time to drive out? I was thinking of heading to the site starting at 5PM just a little after we get to College Station. When does the line of cars get bad? Can we bring food in coolers?

(I haven't been to a burn since '07)

The line will definitely be picking up by then.

All signs I've seen point to a record crowd this year, so I would try and plan accordingly.

You can bring food out, but I think coolers are a no-go. Too many folks try to bring out alcohol and they'll probably turn you away walking up with a cooler and tell you to put it back in the car. I've brought sandwiches before no problem.

There's also food and soda available for cash purchase on site.
