If I was informed correctly, everyone is encouraged to march all over campus with the Yell Leaders, Band & Corp. This is the closest anyone has gotten to get anything Bonfire related back on campus. Awesome idea Aggie99!!

Would UP want to gather everyone and also march in with pots & grodes? The dorms and all need to be involved.

I believe you guys are on the right track...As a parent of a crew chief, I see a HUGE difference between what was once a huge sense of dorm unity to what it is now...
I do disagree with one thing...I feel there must be a memorial or honor tribute to the 12 that died on THE NIGHT of the march...Otherwise you miss the point of why there isn't a bonfire. The parents of the twelve NEED to know and be assured that we honor and remember their children.I still have mixed feelings about bonfire but i DO see the positive effect it had on the community wihin the campus life...But don't forget it ALSO created a huge amount of hazing...Most parents don't know how much or what type but that part would NOT be missed and it WAS a HUGE part of bonfire...I know you don't like to hear this but if the AGGIE MOM'S CLUBS MOMS KNEW what there young men and women were involved in they might NOT be so supportive of the whole tradition. Some of the traditions are vile, slef degrading and obscene and should be left behind...take only the positive one and build...make it a GOOD event not one laced with vulgarity and obscenity.

If somebody could figure out the route the band and yell leaders will be taking across campus ...

Please post it here so that members of every dorm on campus will be able to see it and inform their RA's of the nearest place to meet up with the march. Dorms/organizations should also start working on how they will present themselves (individual dorm tradition/whatever they wanna do associated with this) on that night.

Aggie99 - perhaps your student friends (if still involved in the idea) should speak at dorm and student organization meetings to inform people of their unique opportunity to lay a dorm/organization's foundation for the t.u. yell practice march.

This is something RAs should jump all over because it will be a bonding activity for their residents, and if an RA goes above and beyond - don't they have rewards for outstanding RAs already? Not like that should be the motivation for doing this - their Aggie Spirit should be enough ... but anyway ... yeah.

Somebody post the route, and somebody light a fire under their butts to get other people excited about every student's involvement.

This will be an awesome boost to the morale of our Aggie team, and will also show all of the people down on Aggie Spirit that it's still alive and thriving! Damn, I just got myself pumped up. Put me back on campus! Sign me up for class! Hell yeah!

Yell Practice is set for Thanksgiving night before the Texas game the next day. It will take place at Kyle Field at 8 p.m. The entire football team and coaching staff will attend. TAMU president Robert Gates, head coach Dennis Franchione, and the permanent team captains will address the crowd.

Sounds like a good time. Something a little extra to spice up the yell practice for the tu game. Kind of the old army way of doing the yell practice (back when everyone followed the FTAB to Yell).

Apparently if you want to participate, you meet behind the quad, and the March/Parade around campus starts at 7:15.

It should be a good time. And it should add something to your Yell Experience for the tu game.
