Has anyone taken any pictures of stack as it gets built? I'd love to see the progress!

There is a thread entitled "Bonfire 2012 Photos". I expect there will be some shared there.

The first stack shift was tonight, so you're not going to see much "progress" from anything.

Well, we did get a good chunk of 2nd Tier done...but agreed, there were several people taking pictures; I'd expect them to be up sometime .

Was it workers taking pictures or random spectators? I didn't think cameras were allowed at stack site during construction?

No cameras at stack unless a media visit is arranged with leadership at least one week in advance and release forms have been signed. Likewise stack site is closed to all spectators and personnel not registered with Student Bonfire and actively working with a registered crew.

Who were the people taking pictures earlier? Can spectators come to watch stack being built, no cameras, just to be out there at night watching as long as they stay out of the way, or in a designated viewing area?

Well, if there are no spectators allowed...

And as far as I can tell, participants are not barred from taking pictures.

There's a lot of ignorant on this thread. Sounds to be like no cameras means no cameras; no spectators means no spectators. There are exceptions to rules; if you have to wonder whether you are one, you're not.

The simple answer is....IF you've been sneaking onto stack site since at least 2005(including late at night, during the day, and outside of stack shifts) to take pictures, you've been run off every year for breaking the rules, and you refuse to become a participant (why wouldn't somebody want to participate?).... then it is a good assumption that you will not be allowed to come out and just take pictures.

Just something to think about which should provide a pretty good answer to your question.

Student Bonfire is an organization that can be joined by any person willing to follow the rules.

People would sneak onto the site? Wow, some people don't understand that rules are rules and are put in place for a reason.
