Numbers? Highlights? Lowlights?

I'm not a green but the ones I talked to this morning (and feel free to call me on this) put figures around 900 signed up, mid-700's came out this morning, up from about 550 last year.

A lot of people walked through our woods to leave at lunch so I don't know any end-of-day figures. Good day I though thought though overall. Parking lot was crowded, but it is first cut after all.

Like I said, if anybody actually in the loop has got better information on numbers through it up.

Hopefully all had a positive experience and will bring their buddies out in the future.

There was a good number of kids out there this year. I was impressed with the trees and the progress.

There was a great turnout. I was very happy/impressed with the numbers that were there for first cut.

The woods are great. Lots of tall straight trees.

I'm looking forward to getting back out there this Sunday (God bless Aggie Football for giving me a good excuse to make it down for several cuts this year).

I don't know numbers but the dorms that looked like they had the most were Hart, Walton, and Crocker. I cut with DUNN though and we had about 30, with about 20 fish. I think we got off everyones virgin stripes except for our two leftys haha. All in all a good day and we have more slotted to come out next week.

Extra good bull though, we have 5 guys from mosher trying to start up a mosher crew and bring bonfire back to more than 2 dorms on southside (dunn, sbk). They are cutting with us this year though and hopefully they can get some cheifs next year from leadership.

Several Mosher guys were cutting with FHK as well. Their pots were painted crew chief colors and should be fixed by next week.

I know Appelt cut with Crocker, so there was some additional south side representation. Good to see them getting back in it.

Saw them too, we said they had to go do "Corps things"

Like Fitch, I am not a green, but as I understand it Hart pulled the most, with something in the low 50s, beating Crocker by 5. I never saw any numbers, but, passing the loadsite it looked like Walton must have been right on their heels in terms of numbers.

They caught a lot of grief for the apparent lunch-time leave, but most of them only went to the parking lot to eat their lunch and then returned to the woods afterwards to continue working.

well anybody passing through the woods(especially at lunchtime) is going to catch a lot of grief... glad to hear that most of them went back to work though

I don't know about the rest of bonfire, but the corps pulled 160 people out there (the most they had in the history of off campus bonfire at one single cut[thinking back to the horrible turnout last year at outfit/dorm cut where the entire corps had 8 people at the begining of the day]) and got a 144 trees. some people did leave after lunch due to other circumstances in the afternoon involving academics and corps duties, but only about 20 left.

That's definitely understandable. I think a lot of people just saw them all leave as a group, but it wasn't nearly as obvious when they came back.

Great numbers...glad to hear of the uptick.
