ross bridge is great if you stay the weekend or can get free for golf later in the week:

highlands bar and grill and Bottega are the best two fine dining restaurants in the city. they work best with an expense account.
if you are into jazz, 22nd street jazz club is pretty good but, naturally, depends on the act.
civil rights institute and museum is cool as well.
birmingham is one of those cities that is a great place to live but not the most conducive for business travel or tourism. let us know what you think. I see some bashing on texags but I don't know many people who have spent time there and didn't enjoy it.
