I've only read 3/4 of it (don't want to spoil the ending), but if anyone wants to take a look at the script, this is the FIRST DRAFT (dated February 28, 2006) with the current writers' revisions. Filming began three months later in May, and this thing has gone through quite a few re-writes in that time (still by Kurtzman and Orci), so expect what you read in this draft to be pretty much 85% of what you'll see come July. Same characters, same plot structure, a lot of the same scenes.

I seriously doubt the powers that be are patrolling the message boards of an Aggie sports website, but still - I have no idea how long this link I've created will be up. It's a downloadable .pdf file and, by the way, the title "Prime Directive" is used in the same way "Red Sun" or "Intimidation Game" was used for Superman Returns and Batman Begins, respectively - to keep the attention away. No problem, guys. I'd love to hear what others think of the script. The verdict is still out for me - it's a little cheesy and cliche in parts, but overall a pretty good read. Then again, this is just a first draft.

the decepticon toys will be way more cool than the autobots. Unless the A-bots break out that Robotech looking red & white jet.

Haven't had a chance to read the script yet, but a few comments on the pics:

1) The robots are way overdesigned. I'm sorry, but Optimus as a 'bot looks hideous - as does every other 'bot.

2) Why is a decepticon a cop car? That's doesn't fit the mold of what the two sides should be.

A Decepticon is a cop car because that's exactly what they do... deceive. By posing as something people trust, it's able do things and infiltrate places it's not normally supposed to be. To me, that fits EXACTLY what a Decepticon is all about. It makes perfect sense in the script.

And as for the designs, yeah I agree about them being overdesigned, but I'm going to reserve judgement til I see them in motion on the screen.

I see the original voice of Optimus Prime is doing his voice (he's been Eeyore for a while) but the guy who I will forever picture as Cobra Commander and Starscream has passed on.

wow, just read about this Frank Welker guy who did 8 of the original 14 decepticon voices and has been in countless cartoons. He's rumored to be megatron again.

In the original Transformers, vehicles like police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances were always Autobots.

Bumblebee is supposed to be the Autobot scout. It makes more sense for him to be a vehicle with some speed.

And thank God they didn't name LeBouf's character "Spike."

Just added newly-released pics of Megatron... and this is getting kind of rediculous. Not even a faint resemblence to the old-school Megatron. I understand not making him turn into a gun (cause that never really made any sense to begin with), but this is just plain stupid.

I loved it though and cannot wait till 4th of July next year. I keep telling my fiance that we are going to be first in line if it means having to camp out for hours.

She said no way. We'll go to the first feature but won't wait for hours.

I told her just because it's not my little pony or care bears the movie, is no reason for her to talk sheet. I then slapped her so now we will get to be first in line.

I'm just curious as to why they don't name the tank Brawl as that is what he was originally.
