Born and raised in College Station (though he majored in film at the University of Texas), this is director Allen Coulter's (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0002339/) first feature film. His major credits include helping to launch both "The Sopranos" and "Sex and the City" for HBO, directing many episodes for each series.
Though he's not an Aggie, it's still pretty cool to see someone from College Station make it this big. Allen's mother is a good friend of my grandparents' and I've had the chance to talk to her about Allen a couple times, and also saw him speak at A&M a few years ago. He seems like a really nice guy. Hollywoodland looks pretty interesting and I hope it does it well for his sake.
It'll be released September 8.
