So, considering the return of you know who at the end of the second film, how do you think they will explain that as well as what happened to Jack in the third??? Being named "At the End of the World" one has to wonder about a lot

Well Capt Barbosa was arrested at the end of the first movie if I remember correctly. The two goons (wooden eye and hello puppet) had obviously escaped from jail, so I assumed that Barbosa got out too.

My only guess for Jack is that he'll be alive inside of the Kraken(sp?). I have no idea though.

Wouldn't Barbosa die from the gunshot wound he recieved at the end of the 1st one (right when the curse was lifted)? How do you explain that one?

I was thinking...Since all of the coins had to be together in order for the curse to be lifted in Curse of the Black Pearl, when the monkey stole the coin at the end, maybe it brought Barbosa back??

No. The curse was lifted. The monkey is the only one cursed now.

Only possible explanation:

Barbosa was dying. In his last few breaths, the monkey delivered the coin to him. Both are cursed.

I would say from the way the voodoo lady talked that being dead isn't exactly the end-all of things.

Did people SEE the movie? Giving the coin to someone doesn't curse them.

Barbosa had a bullet in his heart. He was dead, not mostly dead. The explanation of why he's back and very much alive likely has something to do with the VOODOO PRIESTESS.

if you'll recall, the monkey steals a piece of the cursed gold in the scene after the credits in the first one. dunno if that has anything to do with it.

Was the bullet made of silver though? I don't remember that being the case.

In PoTC2, the first time they enter the Voodoo hut, the monkey quickly takes off and runs away to what appears to be a body or corpse. One can only assume that was the pre-ressurrected Barbosa.

I remember seeing the monkey next to the pirate boots and thought they even moved a little.

The movie kept focusing on that ring that Jack stole from the priestess. They did it subtilely, but I remember seeing that ring at least 2 or 3 times just enough to remind me that he had it. I'm pretty sure that him living is going to have something to do with that ring.

Here's one:

Capt. Jack had 'the black mark' which would attract the Kraken. He was desperate to get to land and to avoid the open sea, lest he draw the Kraken's attention.

So, why did the Kraken get fooled into attacking that one ship that had simply picked up his hat? Was Jack's clothing marked? It was also sent to attack Jack on the Black Pearl, yet didn't seem to notice him less than 100 yards away on that little boat.

Also, Jack and Will come across that one ship that had been attacked by the Kraken and Will goes aboard and gets captured by Davy Jones.

Why did the Kraken attack that ship, who are the people on it and why wasn't the ship dragged to the bottom of the sea?

Davy Jones could not set foot on land, so the witch doctor gave Jack a bottle full of dirt.

Was it special dirt? No, not really. It was just dirt.

Why didn't Jack keep numerous bottles of dirt on board or even keep a vial of it on his person at all times? How about if Will tried to sneak a bottle of dirt onboard the Flying Dutchman? Would that cause Davy Jones to flee his own ship?

The mark itsself didn't draw the beast, it was Jones CALLING it that did that...I don't think his attacking the first ship really had anything to do with it...Also, that is the only ship that was taken straight down, so we really don't know if it was normal to leave it floating for survivors or not...As for the dirt, who knows....

This is just being stupid. Not a plot hole.

Aliens could have come and beamed Jones to the Zarkon galaxy and saved everyone. The fact that they didn't isn't a plot hole.

I agree that they were plotholes, but its a movie about haunted pirates... Are you expecting non-fiction?

I just spent the better part of 15 minutes typing up 1 or 2 other things I had issues with.

When I was finally done and hit "Submit" I got the "Page cannot be displayed" screen and it wiped out everything I had just typed.

S**t.

I'm not going to retype everything (mainly because I think I rambled and would probably have bored you).

Let me just say that, don't get me wrong. I was entertained by this film. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. I just felt it was inferior to the original (like that's uncommon these days) because there were several things I had problems with.

Well, there is a difference between all dead and mostly dead. Perhaps someone took Barbosa to the King's magician and it was found that Barbosa was only "mostly dead" and he had a noble reason to live such as true love. Then the King's magician gave him a magic bean that brought him back to life.....wait...I am getting my movies mixed up....nm
