Lot of WTF? nominees. Some good, a lot of horrible selections however. No Lost, which won last year, for best drama and nothing in the major acting categories. Glad to see those Desperate House*****es get shut out. Gandolfini and Falco snubbed for Sopranos, no Lauren Graham(again) or Kristen Bell. Other than Jaime Pressly, Earl got shut out, as did Everybody Hates Chris. Entourage only got Piven. Two and a Half Men? WTF? That show is crap. Kevin James? The Shield completely overlooked, same for Battlestar. I could go on and on with my complaints. They changed the voting system this year, and they managed to still screw things up. At least Scrubs and Arrested Development and 24(most drama nominations) and Denis Leary got some love.

I would love to see "24" sweep the three acting categories. Especially Itzin and Smart as the President and First Lady. My God, watching them over the course of the season was enthralling.

F--- Martin Sheen. Itzin is THE best POTUS on tv.

The West Wing and Scrubs??!! Are you kidding me?

These have as little credibility as the Golden Globes.

I also wish to see 24 sweep their categories

I watched the "Code Black" episode of Grey's after the Super Bowl; terrible. I didn't even bother to see the second part.

Most of the nominations are utter crap, especially in the comedy actress and supporting actress catagories.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
at least they got elizabeth perkins right, for 'weeds'. no one else in the category comes close.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Jaime Pressly is the class of that field. Mary-Louise Parker deserved a nomination for Weeds over Elizabeth Perkins

Guaranteed Sandra Oh wins the Emmy... everyone will feel sorry for the ugly chick and vote for her.

She scares me with her ugliness.

hong, you just said that you didnt watch AD this season, but still picked will arnett for best supporting actor this year? nice
Hong Kong Paul
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Because Will Arnett makes that show, and I am extremely confident he was awesome, even if the show wasn't. GOB is the man.

DRAMA SERIES:
"Grey's Anatomy," ABC
"House," Fox

Only because Lost didnt get nommed and I hate the other 3.

COMEDY SERIES:
"Arrested Development," Fox
"Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO
"The Office," NBC
"Scrubs," NBC
"Two and a Half Men," CBS
Tough call between this and The Office...but Im giving it to Scrubs because I think it has more heart. And I want to right the injustice of it not being on the air this coming fall. Plus The Office will be back next year. Oh, and where is Entourage?

ACTOR, DRAMA SERIES:
Denis Leary, "Rescue Me," FX Network
Peter Krause, "Six Feet Under," HBO
Christopher Meloni, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," NBC
Kiefer Sutherland, "24," Fox
Martin Sheen, "The West Wing," NBC
Great actor on a fantastic show...check it out if you havent seen it. Its like Nip/Tuck but ten times better and Leary carries it.

ACTRESS, DRAMA SERIES:
Kyra Sedgwick, "The Closer," TNT
Geena Davis, "Commander in Chief," ABC
Mariska Hargitay, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," NBC
Frances Conroy, "Six Feet Under," HBO
Allison Janney, "The West Wing," NBC
Don't really care about any of these...where the hell is Jennifer Garner?

SUPPORTING ACTOR, DRAMA SERIES:
William Shatner, "Boston Legal," ABC
Oliver Platt, "Huff," Showtime
Michael Imperioli, "The Sopranos," HBO

SUPPORTING ACTRESS, DRAMA SERIES:
Candice Bergen, "Boston Legal," ABC
Sandra Oh, "Grey's Anatomy," ABC
Chandra Wilson, "Grey's Anatomy," ABC
Blythe Danner, "Huff," Showtime
Jean Smart, "24," Fox
Please just dont give it to the stupid asian *****

ACTOR, COMEDY SERIES:
Larry David, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO
Kevin James, "The King of Queens," CBS
Tony Shalhoub, "Monk," USA
Steve Carell, "The Office," NBC
Charlie Sheen, "Two and a Half Men," CBS
Should be a close call between Carell and Zach Braff...emmy dumbasses left him out...

ACTRESS, COMEDY SERIES:
Lisa Kudrow, "The Comeback," HBO
Jane Kaczmarek, "Malcolm in the Middle," Fox
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, "The New Adventures of Old Christine," CBS
Stockard Channing, "Out of Practice," CBS
Debra Messing, "Will & Grace," NBC
Great stuff...this is definitely not your Kudrow from Friends. Check out her amazingly awkward performance.

SUPPORTING ACTOR, COMEDY SERIES:
Will Arnett, "Arrested Development," Fox
Jeremy Piven, "Entourage," HBO
Bryan Cranston, "Malcolm in the Middle," Fox
Jon Cryer, "Two and a Half Men," CBS
Sean Hayes, "Will & Grace," NBC
Piven definitely deserves it for Entourage, but Im giving Arnett the edge because the show needs one last glory moment. And I would love to give AD best comedy series, but the season was too short so Scrubs and Office trump it. So I'm robbing Piven and making it up to AD here. And Piven will be back next year.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS, COMEDY SERIES:
Cheryl Hines, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO
Alfre Woodard, "Desperate Housewives," ABC
Jaime Pressly, "My Name Is Earl," NBC
Elizabeth Perkins, "Weeds," Showtime
Megan Mullally, "Will & Grace," NBC
WTF...Alfre Woodard makes it as the only Housewife in? Another effed up category, where are Sarah Chalke from Scrubs and Jessica Walters from Arrested Development?

"Arrested Development," Fox
"Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO
"The Office," NBC
"Scrubs," NBC
"Two and a Half Men," CBS

Leaving out Edie Falco makes that entrie category bunk.

Including Two and a half men as best anything is a freakin joke. Just pathetic.

Geena Davis???

Didn't that show get cancelled mid-season? I hated the people who *****ed about this show being a leftist conspiracy to make people more accepting of a female president because of Hillary. Maybe they were on to something?

Wow, Lost got screwed. West Wing? C'mon.

Here's hoping for Gregory Itzin to win Best Supporting.

The West Wing is one of my absolute favorite shows ever. That said, it hasn't been that great for a couple of years now. And Grey's Anatomy? I'm sorry, but no. Many may want to say that Lost wasn't as good a show this year, and maybe it wasn't, but its still good enough to get nominated over those two.

The acting parts are harder to make a case for Lost. I mean, the show is the most ensemble-based show ever, as far as I can tell. I think there is a category called "Best Ensemble for Drama/Comedy", which while not listed here, one can assume it is nominated.

seems like a many of the nominations went on ratings numbers (hence two and half men and Greys Anatomy) or past glories (geena davis and the West Wing) while the great shows on networks like FX or HBO (Sopranos, Rescue Me, Entourage) get the shaft.

As a note, The West Wing is my favorite show of all time. and those that knock it probably never saw it during its 1st 4 seasons when it would easily clean the floor with anything on tv today, but its nomination for best drama or Sheens nod for best actor (you rarely saw him this season) is insane

Considering the fact they'll have to buy the DVD to do it, that's not a good idea. There's a reason HBO cancelled it after one season.

Two and a Half Men is a terrible show. I don't know why sooo many people watch it. West Wing was a great show a few years ago, and it did mop the floor with everyone else. It shouldn't now though. It's like they look all of the shows that got cancelled and nominated them with a couple of popular piece of crap shows.

I will be mad if Jamie Pressly doesn't win;she is what makes that show great. I was surprised that Entourage didn't get many nominations, and they usually have the FX shows in there (Nip/tuck).

DVD's are what I meant by check it out, and you dont have to buy it, there is always netflix. The fact that the show got cancelled means nothing about the performance, it just means that people didnt watch it. The fact that Arrested Development got cancelled and Scrubs is on the brink every season just goes to show that cancellation doesnt make the performance any less great.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I realize that's the standard response to defend a poor quality series that gets cancelled but it's just not the case with that horrendous series. You would be right with any network other than HBO. Whether it's bringing The Wire back or giving Carnivale a shot at a second season, HBO has shown numerous they care more about quality than ratings.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
A category that popped out to me:

PICTURE EDITING FOR NONFICTION PROGRAMMING (LARGE TEAM ENTRIES -- PRIMARILY MULTI-CAMERA PRODUCTIONS):
"The Amazing Race: Here Comes the Bedouin!" CBS
"American Idol: Audition City: Greensboro," Fox
"Project Runway: Clothes off Your Back," Bravo
"Survivor: Starvation & Lunacy," CBS
"Survivor: Salvation and Desertion," CBS

Why?
Amongst the editors nominated for Project Runway is Clark Vogeler, lead guitar player for the Toadies.

That guys has a rough life. He's a rock star, then band breaks up, and he goes off and gets nominated for an Emmy. gesh!

If Piven doesn't win for supporting in a comedy series then the whole awards show is bunk imho.
