For Adult Swim viewers, I would also recommend The Boondocks.

I think Northern Exposure suffers heavily for the way it wenr out... that last season (2 seasons?) after Joel left and they brought in the preppy couple... blah.

The Wire
Entourage

Both are are overshadowed by the hype of The Sopranos and Deadwood

Cupid was a really good show, and jeremy piven is an incredibly funny actor, it is a shame he doesnt get more shows.

I haven't thought about WKRP in ages. I used to love watching the reruns of that show with my parents when I was a kid.

I remember when Northern Exposure premiered, it was a quite enjoyable show. Barry Corbin was great and the moose wandering through town was a nice touch (my mom's favorite part of the show). Whoever said it is right, when Joel left the show went to pot. They'd have been better off to just cancel it and end on a high note than letting it collapse at the end.

I'm a big fan of 2 1/2 Men, but I don't think you can call it overrated. It's pretty much the centerpiece of CBS' comedy lineup. How I Met Your Mother if probably underrated by those people that think it's just a "chick" comedy, but it's a good show for anyone.

I used to watch Yes, Dear when it was on Mondays leading up to Everybody Loves Raymond, but I don't ever watch it on Wednesdays. It's not altogether a bad show, I like Jimmy, and Jerry van Dyke is a great guest star no matter what show it is, but Greg absolutely drives me nuts. I just want to punch that weenie every time he opens his mouth. It's also geared far too much towards women (seriously, any guy like me is going to turn the channel when an episode of a show is about the family being on A Baby Story or whatever its called).

It's the highest rated show on Tuesday so it's obviously getting folks to watch it, but I don't think NCIS gets enough credit as it deserves. While it's regarded as a spinoff of CSI (and its partially is), it has a completely different feel to it than CSI does. As a fan of JAG (back when it was actually about the law), I love the naval setting, and the cast of characters are great. DiNozzo the smart-aleck, Abby the goth lab technician, Ducky the medical examiner, and the Ziva the Israeli-born detective who's absolutely clueless to most American pop culture (although I liked Kate better) make it a fun show to watch, and I think Mark Harmon as Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs is the greatest leading character on tv today.

I liked a handful of shows that aired back in the early 90s, and didn't last particularly long.

I enjoyed "Young Indiana Jones" but didn't get to watch it frequently enough. Then it was gone. Another was a post-WWII show called "Homefront". Not sure what it was that I liked about it, but I just remember watching it each week. Then it didn't get renewed or something and I moved on to "Earth 2". I thought that was one of the better sci-fi shows and was a welcome change from the various "Star Trek" incarnations going on at the time. It may have gone a couple of seasons and then it was gone too. So it was at that point that I quit watching tv shows for the most part until I got hooked on Seinfeld a few years later.

Cinco Ranch, great job bringing up Young Indiana Jones. As a kid, I absolutely LOVED that show, and I had every single one of the books that came out about the same time. That show never got enough credit, it was a quality adventure show that was fun and appropriate for parents, children, and young adults to watch.

I'm trying to think, didn't ABC have it on Monday nights, alongside Coach and before Monday Night Football? A more appropriate timeslot or a different channel might have made that a success.

Speaking of that, Coach was a quality show as well. Hayden Fox, Luther Van Dam, and Dobber were a great team.

Glad to see somebody else agrees with Freaks and Geeks & Undeclared. They are the greatest shows about high school and college ever created. Its awesome that the genius creator Judd Apatow is finally finding an audience for his work in movies (The 40 Year Old Virgin.)

Though the show pretty much sucks now, Alias was really underrated during its first 2 seasons. While it got tons of critical and media buzz, in was pretty underrated in terms of audience.

I agree with Buffy but think they may have went two season too long. Should have ended at 5 seasons. Still one of the best shows ever.

I'll throw Friday Night Lights and Battlestar Galactica out there since both are required viewing and I don't think mentioned yet.

L&O is so freaking spot on. Wife and I are doing a rewatch of the series in order and I can't wait to get to that one. The Goodfellas chicken finger episode might be my favorite.
