I like the ABC version of Anthology, and some of the first hand interviews were really great - I especially like the Beatles sans John hanging out at George's house singing and playing the ukelele. Not a whole lot of new info thought, and more lengthy than it needed to be - seemed to drag on.

Compleat Beatles had mostly 2nd and 3rd hand info (with the exception of George Martin interviews) and a lot of the video was just shots of photos and album covers at different camera angles. What was great about it - in about 3 hours you had a lot of great Beatle music - many songs that were not released as singles, and you had a great english narration ( can't think of the narrator's name ) and the script was great.
"The Beatles were lucky, they came at the right time, and they were charming, but most of all they were good. Very, very good."

I think Anthology made Compleat irrelevent. The DVDs are less than $60 (cheaper than the VHS was when that came out) and is chock full of everything, plus 5.1 sound.

By the way, I know Let It Be will be released on DVD eventually, probably next year, but what about Help? That needs a big time upgrade

one time i was at a garage sale looking for a microwave, and this guy had the whole beatles anthology (on vhs) and the companion coffee table book, and he was like, "oh yeah, man, i really hate the beatles, these belonged to my sister" and he gave them all to me for like 15 bucks. that made me real happy.
