Ozzfest has way too many dry-heave bands for my taste. Gigantour just doesn't do it for me either. Here's a metal fest lineup that I could really enjoy:

Judas Priest
Iced Earth
Black Label Society
Slayer
Lacuna Coil
Metal Church
Cage

maybe a few others

I'd say:

Megadeth
Priest
Slayer
Sevendust (OK so not full-on metal, but badass live)
Sepultura
Corrosion of Conformity
Dio
Black Label Society
Iron Maiden

That'd be badass...

Anthrax (don't know why y'all overlook this band)
Priest
Slayer
Megadeth
COC

Hey, a while back (more than 10 years ago) Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer were on tour together. I'd shell out HUGE bucks for this tour today. In fact, I'd say price would be no object for that.

I should have included Dio, Motorhead, Megadeth & Anthrax (if they cut the rap from the setlist).

I would have included Maiden, but I don't want to hear another series of Bruce's mindless rants between songs.

Ditka: Jag Panzer is one of those bands where I think I ought to like 'em, but it seems to be an acquired taste. I recently got "Decade of the Nail Spiked Bat". I'll give it another listen today.

If were talking fantasy island dream, here goes:

Sabbath
Pantera
Slayer
BLS (w/ Ozzy Singing their songs)
Metallica (w/ Cliff on bass)
Megadeath
Maiden
Priest

I don't even wanna try to pic the order.

And if we're really on fantasy island, we'll pretend that I am not bald and can bang.

That's your problem right there. Their old stuff blew ass. Get Mecahanized Warfare or Casting the Stones.

Buck, you keep saying these kinds of things about Anthrax as if they're heavy into the rap sound or nu-metal (I cringe even typing that phrase). They've only done that kind of thing twice (two songs), by my count: "Bring the Noise" with Public Enemy (which is heavy despite it being a cover of PE's original) and their "I'm the Man", which is hilarious.

I suppose you know about Attack of the Killer B's, and that did have a couple more "rap" songs ("Startin' up a Posse" and an updated "I'm the Man" ) but I've yet to hear either of them in concert. That wasn't really a studio album, anyway.

I've seen 'em do "I'm the Man" once in concert, and they regularly do "Bring the Noise" which leads me to doing stupid things in the mosh pit. Beyond that, their concerts are rip-your-throat-out metal.

Didn't you check out We've Come for You All? No rap on that one. Just surprises me that you have this idea about Anthrax when your musical tastes are very similar to mine, by all accounts...

Aggie94: Actually, I did like "We've Come for You All". A setlist of WCFYA and comparable songs would be just fine. Somehow, I have an impression that they've done more rap than you describe - they have been described as pioneers of rap-metal in various articles and VH-1 type shows. I don't claim to be an Anthrax expert, so maybe they're not as bad as I thought.
