I bought the DVD over the weekend... I started watching it again for about the sixth time! I've read the book four times.... this is truly a classic and my favorite book and movie ever!

i read this book this summer for the third time. pure greatness.

Money well spent Jake. Both times.

Best movie ever made hands down and there's not even a close second. I can probably say with pretty decent accuracy that i have wasted (wasted might not be the best word) at least 2 to 3 weeks of my lifetime watching that movie. It's at least 30 plus times! Enough to pretty much have the script memorized. So many good quotes that it's hard to pick just one, but here goes.

Woodrow: You don't get excited bout nothin, but whor@#.
Gus: Mmmmhuh
Woodrow: And biscuits
Gus: You bet!

It's one of my favorites with a great score of music, as well.

I purchased the coolest thing ever (well, maybe not ever) in Fredericksburg last month. I got a framed print of McCrae, Call, and Spoon from the San Antonio bar scene from when "folks around here wanted to make us senators."

I had seen this before pwalnuts... I can't imagine changing anything though....! The 1988 version is perfect IMO.

I agree, i couldn't see anyone else playing any of the other characters. Robert Duval and Danny Glover could do no wrong after that movie in my eyes.
