Great night for nerds everywhere. SG-1, I've never watched, but the addition of Ben Browder will get me to watch. Atlantis, I really enjoyed last year, and I hope the resolution to the wraith attack is a good one. As for BSG, one of the best shows on tv and I'm so glad SciFi didn't make us wait more than a few months for season 2. tivo will be busy tonight with these 3 shows on, as well as Monk and Into the West.

I'm witholding judgement on SG1, but Atlantis was awesome tonight! I don't like the idea of "killing off" Ford but every show makes character changes in the first few years.

The one thing I hated in BSG was the reasoning they didnt send the new jump coords...

The guy has no excuse for "forgetting" to send the new coords to the fleet (esp since if he did forget he would have realized his mistake when they decided to do the emergency jump he would have remembered he forgot)

A favor. Maddeningly, storm cut power with about ten minutes or less to go in BG. What happened right after Col Tigh was talking to Adama after the medic's emergency surgery? Did it go on much longer, or switch back to Kobol or Caprica?

This is nuts.

(To clarify: I saw past the Galactica' success with the network and jumping back to find the fleet. Its while he is asking Adama if he can hear him, etc, that cable failed.)

btw: Stargate Atlantis *was* good. What a spectacular trick to escape the attack.

titan, the new cylon ship that crashed into the bay is a troop carrier. The show eneded with the cylons (the robotic looking ones) turning on and exiting.

Thanks! I could tell there was something wrong as that zoom in on the crashed ship happened. I couldn't understand why it wasn't already surrunded by bay personnel!

I also am wondering why they didn't send a party out to investigate the wreckage. I also wanted them to show more on the planet Caprica but the last we saw was Sharon-Cylon taking Starbuck's ride.

Is anyone else bothered by the ranking system (the use of "major"? Also, why haven't we seen any marines (ship-bound soldiers for when soldiering is needed)? It seems like when soldiering is needed, it's something that most of the navy types do as a secondary duty. Are the security types on the ship, marines?

Granted I still haven't seen the miniseries yet so I don't know everything. Anyword on it coming to DVD?

I always assumed the infantry type guys were killed along with the rest of Caprica during the initial attack.

Dont' forget that they were commissioning a museum on Galactica when the Cylons first attacked...so there probably weren't any Marines on board at the time.

Before Season 1 started, I was reading posts from people in England who had already seen the first few episodes.

I haven't been hearing anything like that this season so I'd say that episodes are not running there earlier than here this time.

They're not. I think Season 2 was being shot while Season 1 aired here, and Season 2 is being shown at the same time in both countries.

I watched season 1 before it aired here. The episodes were on bit torrent. It was interesting to me that the version in England had a different opening theme than the version here. The theme this year is a shortened version of the British one.

Also, though I don't know who else it would be, how do we know it was Cylons who fired on the party for the 2nd medkit on Kobol? I don't remember seeing anything more than muzzle flashes.

I'm thinking the lack of ID on those that fired on the chief and Cally on Kobol was intentional. If they were Cylons, it's unlikely they would have let them go so easily, so now there's a mystery as to who they really were and if we'll find out for sure one way or the other.

The blonde chick is also a human cylon. So the answer to the second question is no.

the blonde is the "main cylon" in the story and is currently in Dr. Baltars head. Only he can see her, at least that "copy of her"

Also I seem to recall them saying somewhere there are only 12 different human cylons models but we have only see like 4 or 5 different ones. But they can have as many copies as they want.

The only common trait among female human-like cylons is that they seem to all be hot. Perhaps the Galactica should use that as their cylon detector.

They have had Marines on the before...

When they arrested the President they had Marines in the landing party...

And when they went to the prison ship they had Marines who landed with Starbuck...

The ranking system does raise my eyebrow a little bit, Tigh being a Col. and second in command, doesnt make much sense to me but who knows...

Also, got to keep in mind that Galactica didn't have a full crew so who knows how that affects teh rank structure too

It's been out on DVD for at least 3 months...Check best Buy or Circuit City
