I'm thinking about switching to Blockbuster Online Rentals.

Netflix has been good for us; fast turn around, plenty of movies, but is $3.00 more a month than Blockbuster. I like the 2 free in store movie or game rentals a month also.

Just when I thought I'd never go into another Blockbuster.

Anyone here have Blockbuster? Thoughts?

This is exactly why I've stuck with Netflix, $3 more a month be damned.

I do the Blockbuster instore movie pass, I've been reluctant to do the online things because I heard you don't always get the movies you want. I guess the element of surprise would be fun though.

I used to like Blockbuster. Then they "lost" a movie I returned and insist that I still have it.

Now we are enemies.

This is of course ignoring the fact that since they instituted their brilliant "no late fees" scam, new releases are never in stock any more.

I do not speak to Blockbuster any more.

Its my understanding that you have you have to wait 3 weeks? before you can rent a new release with Blockbuster? Is that right.

Netflix all the way, even if Blockbuster does continue to drop it's prices. It's just not a trustworthy corporation.

If you live in Texas near a Hastings, go to Hastings.

Problem solved.

I've been on Netflix for over a year now and I've never had this experience. You should give it a try. I always get whatever movie I want within a few days of sending in another. And, unlike Blockbuster, you can have 3 movies out at a time via mail (if my understanding is correct, you can only have one with Blockbuster).

AgDC,

With Blockbuster you get 3 movies at home by mail along with 2 in-store rentals (movies or games) for 14.99

With Netflix you get 3 movies at home by mail for 17.99

As far as not getting the movie you ordered, that's crazy. The only way you don't get your movie is if there is a wait, which then they send you the next movie in your queue, but you always get an email telling you what movie is coming.

I'm w/ Blockbuster. It's been fine as far as turnaround and everything (for the most part) but a LOT of their movies are categorized as "Short Wait" or "Long Wait". Right now only about 1/4 of my que is "Available now".

I'm sure I'll run out of movies I want to see in the next 6 months so I'll cancel anyways.

Blockbuster is me too. After screwing customers for years, they are trying to play catchup. I'd rather give my money to netflix and help them out, than help BB get bigger and screw over America again. These are the same people that lied about no late charges and bought the 97 World Series.

Ive been with Netflix for a year and though it is not perfect, I will not give my money to the evil coporation known as Blockbuster (eventhough I have family that works for BB).

FWIW, Netflix is owned by Hastings, who is probably not quite as evil as Blockbuster.

I've had my fair share of short/long waits on movies in Netflix. Had to go and rent Napoleon Dynamite or I'd've never seen it.

Just trying to save money where ever I can.

I have been with BB since mid january and have gotten one wrong movie, instead of elf, I got shrek 2. I told them and the immediatly shipped another one. I think their turnaround is a little slow, but I love the 2 free in store rentals, I use them for xbox games.

Netflix is based in Los Gatos, CA (near San Jose) and is not affiliated with Hastings Entertainment of the grand metropolis of Amarillo, TX.

The CEO of Netflix is named Reed Hastings. Maybe that's the point of confusion, but still--that's kind of a ridiculous piece of false information to be spreading.
