Remember Willow?
I watched it the other night and hadn't seen it in 10 years. It was better this time. I think it's a good kid's fantasy movie. It seems a bit abruptly edited but it was still entertaining.

I think I liked it, but I was a stupid 14 year old so it still may suck.

I enjoyed it, but it was definitely more geared toward kids, as opposed to something like Krull.

I got it on Netflix a couple of weeks ago. When I was a kid I loved it. I still enjoyed it, but I think it was more for nostalgia reasons.

Watching the special features, a lot of what they did was pretty revolutionary at the time (the brownies & elves being all shot on Blue screen and inserted.)

kinda partial the The Secret of Nihm, myself.

I hated that movie as a kid, so I doubt I'd get anything out of it now.

Most fantasy stuff gives me the creeps. I just think of the kind of geeks that sit around and dream this crap up, and I want to puke.

Is that candid enough for you?

one thing that i didn't like about willow, is what an arrogant little ***** he was.

I remember watching that one for the dragon/fighting/midget thing back in the day, but I caught it a while back on TNT and it was just pure crap.

On the bright side, there is still one redeeming quality to the movie:

Willow was kind of weak. All he did the whole movie is carry that baby around while Val Kilmer fought everybody.

It was LOTR before LOTR was supposedly cool. Plus the arcade game kicked ass.

I loved this movie growing up, and own the DVD for nostalgia. I was actually thinking about watching it again soon when I had the time.

Oh, and to the comparisons to LOTR, George Lucas actually wanted to make a Lord of the Rings trilogy. However, he thought it was undoable and settled on making his own "hobbit" movie instead, hence we have Willow. All I can say is, Thank God he gave up on LOTR. Can you imagine that travesty?

OMG!! I used to watch this movie over and over when I was little! I thought Willow and Madmartigan were so funny together! I'm so going to watch this tonight!

[proclaiming my nerdness], there was an interesting trilogy of fantasy books recently that followed up on the Willow cast years later by George Lucas & a comic book writer (I think Chris Claremont).

They tried to get the 2nd book at least filmed into a movie.
