Question about John Wayne/John Ford movies

Was there a trilogy these guys did involving "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" or am I way off on this?

I vaguely remember there being a 3 parter that they were involved in. I am watching Stagecoach right now...pretty good in terms of Westerns.

Yes, if I'm not mistaken they are:

Fort Apache
She wore a Yellow Ribbon
Rio Grande

I think they're a "trilogy" in that Ford and Wayne made them and they are cavalry movies but they're not a connected storyline, although Wayne's charcter is Capt. Kirby York in Fort Apache and then he is Lt. Col. Kirby York in Rio Grande.
