The show was typical, over-the-top Crue. The place was sold out, and there was no opening band. The stage setup was a big, dirty, old circus tent. There were midgets, evil clowns, strippers, lots of pyro, trapeze artists, a continual barrage of disturbing immages projected onto three big screens, and the infamous Tommy Lee "titty-cam".
The first set was mostly old stuff from their very early albums. Then there was an intermission where they showed some disturbing and hilarious films, and then they came out on stage on choppers to start the second set with "Girls, Girls, Girls".
The second set was basically material from Girls, Girls, Girls through Dr. Feelgood, up to their two brand new songs. It also included a drum solo where Tommy Lee "flew" on a wire up to two drum kits suspended from the ceiling and alternated between each one by flying back and forth. One kit was made of beer kegs & other odd metal drums, the other was a combination of drum machines and a keyboard. Finally we had a session where every chick with a new boob job they wanted to show off flashed the stage while Tommy Lee filmed it and it was simultaneously projected onto the big screens around the stage.
Overall, this was a trip back in time. A sold out, completely overboard, arena rock show like they used to have in the 80's. I'm glad grunge is dead and we can all have fun again.
