So is anybody else going? I'll be there Wed-Sun again. I think this year will actually be pretty good (I was disapointed last year) There are tons of bands I want to see and better day parties this year.

I wasen't paying attention but it looks like several people I know weren't able to get a wristband... I didn't know they were so hard to get this year since I got them so easilly.

I just happened to be in Austin the first day they went on sale and at waterloo so I went and got cash for 4 bands and started to stand in the line (it wrapped around) Only nobody knew they had a cash only line so when I got the word I walked past everyone and stood in a line that was only 6 people long. Time elasped to get 4 wristbands: 10 minutes. Thank God most people don't have a clue about anything. Now they are on craigslist.org for Ungodly amounts.

I'll be there Wed-Sun. I have a music badge so I'll be at the panels during the day. I'm definately going to try and make the Spin and Adult Swim parties. Wednesday night is going to be nuts, too. The Burden Brothers, The Donnas, and Billy Idol all at Stubbs. Also, did anyone else notice that Vanilla Ice is performing this year? I'm afraid, very afraid...

Where are the Spin and Adult Swim Parties at? And who's playing?

I'll be at The Yard Dog one day for one of theirs. Probably The Blood shot records one. Plus Emos of course.... I'll also try and see The Doves and Hawthorne Heighs at Waterloo for thier instores. They are playing back to back.

Also every year we try and get into the SXSE party at the Caswell House. We made it in once like 3 years ago but they have been asswipes ever since. They have a free bbq from Rubys plus beer and canadien bands.

They're having a suprise act playing at the Spin Magazine party that I'm not at liberty to disclose, The adult swim party is just cool because i finally might be able to get meatwad's autograph.

A lot of times those Spin parties are at Stubbs, but it can be a pain to get into. It's cool to take off work Friday and cruise 6th and Red River areas trying to see what's up.

If you all have time check out Morning Theft.

They play Friday at 5 at the Spider House and it's a free show.

I just got back from a couple of panels. Good stuff so far. I'll be heading down to Stubbs and Spiros tonight for some parties/showcases. Billy Idol should be badass tonight

Just got back about a half hour ago. Went down with some friends Thursday night for some Austin St. Patties fun. Then we woke up really early this morning (7ish) so we could get in line for the AP/FUSE party. It was a free concert with amazing bands. Jack's Mannequin, The Honorary Title, Hawthorne Heights, Jamisonparker, Fall Out Boy, Midtown, and The STARTING LINE!! Oh man, it was an amazing show. Started at 10:30am and didn't end until 5. Everyone should check out Jack's Mannequin cause they just completely blew me away. The lead singer of Something Corporate started a side project and there's a chance it might be bigger than soco. True greatness.

If anyone caught any of Todd Snider's sets I would appreciate a run down. I know he was playing a few times.

Thanks.

Looking forward to him playing the Continental Club in Houston on the 23rd.

It is great how Houston and Dallas benefit from SXSW with a bevy of good shows on either side of it.

I just got back. It was amazing this year. I'll update later but two standouts I saw that I never heard of were mewithoutyou (apparently one word) and San Saba County. Everybody should check those out. Especially San Saba County if you are a fan of Uncle Tupelo and the genre.

We got back from Austin late Sat. night. There where a lot of people on six street fri. night including some protesters telling everybody they where going to hell.To be honest I was not very impressed with the bands we saw or the music we heard. We had our meeting behind the Four Seasons hotel fri. morning during the BMi brunch. There where a lot of rich people at that place. I did get to meet Lyle Lovett( sp )at the brunch. That was pretty cool.
