I was ...ahem... "acquiring" music online and I came across something listed as "Texas Aggie Girls" by Derrick Grubbs, Mark Davenport and Tommy Smith.

It was a parody/homage to the Beach Boys' "California Girls" with references to SMU, Rice, Arkansas, tu, Baylor, and the SWC. Has anyone heard it before and/or know anything about the history behind it?

Not quite up there with Dub Miller's "Fightin' Texas Aggie" but you can't help but smile.

Doubt it can be worse than "Sweet Home College Station"

Dub should have been lynched on that one. Or at the very least hung from his toes from the Northgate/Disneyland sign and pelted with rotting produce.

I kinda like SHCS.

They were a fun band.

That Beach Boys take off song was popular when I was in school. One of the guys who did it was the stadium announcer at Olsen field at the time.

That song was played a bunch on the B/CS FM stations and they had it for sale at Hastings way back then.

DD rocked. He is working for the Round Rock Express in, well, Round Rock. You should email that mp3 to him. I bet you could find his address on their website. I had totally forgotten about that song. It takes me back to the spring of 89, when the Ags ruled college baseball and life was sweet (until that doubleheader against that team)
