I must admit that is a pretty good cover of "The Wall". Come to think of it, the Marilyn Manson (who also makes me ill) re-make of Personal Jesus ain't half bad either. WTF is going on here?!

Ok, there have been so many covers this past year I could have sworn I was in some dive bar in Austin if I listened to the radio.

The Wall didnt need to be covered even moreseo not by Korn.

Behind Blue Eyes was maybe one of the worst covers ever, and just shows that Limp Bizkit sucks even more than they ever did, which is a lot.

My Perrogative was whiney when done by a product of the same attention that the song says to go away. Im pretty damn sure that if the public just stopped paying attention to Britney Spears, she would totally evaporate like the fart she is.

and my personal most hated... WHY oh WHY did some crappy band like 311 have to go and redo a perfectly good Love Song! The Cure is 100x the band and Robert Smith put emotion into his song, then I get some sort of Margaritaville version of a loved song? UGH.

That reminds me .. also one last crappy cover.. Hey Good Lookin by all those country guys .. seriously .. Hank Sr must be rolling in his grave, that was awful.

That reminds of that "duet" that Kid Rock did with Sheryl Crow. Not a great song to begin with, but Sheryl can sing her ass off. The hilarious thing was I saw them do it live and Kid Rock was all over the place with his pitch and Sheryl was looking over at him like "WTF is that???" Comedy!

311 is a really good (won't say great b/c that is reserved for just a few in my book) band. although i am not a fan of their latest stuff. their first few albums were awesome. so was zebrahead's waste of mind.

You obviously havent heard whatever crappy country artist did the cover of Me and Bobby McGee. it's horible. and there are several other country singers who have destroyed great songs recently (dixie craps - landslide is awful). but still the worst cover in the history of covers has to be Sheryl Crow's (yes she's a good singer) destruction of Sweet Child O' Mine on the Big Daddy sound track. I stood up in the middle of the movie and yelled "What the hell is this crap!!" when it was played.

I agree on the whole "Sweet Child O' Mine" cover, completely unnecessary. Oh, and especially that "Behind Blue Eyes" debacle! WOW...WTF are some people thinking??? Seriously though I must admit to really digging Sheryl Crow's second album. I am with Zakk on Fred Durst/Limp Bizkit however.

Didn't Korn also re-make "Word Up" by Cameo? If that was them I heard the other day I thought it sounded pretty good too.

I agree though there are far too many "re-dos" but they aren't all bad. Just a sign that a band has run out of ideas and become desparate.

They just did a kind of compilation of the 3 "Another Brick in the Wall" parts. It goes start to finish through Brick 1, 2, and 3. I don't *hate* it, but it's not groundbreaking or anything.

I realize it is funny having a death metal band cover Neil Young, but it is still a good version.

However, their version of Summer Breeze was terrible. The only redeeming value of the song was the unintentional comedy factor.

I do like Korn's cover of Word Up.

And 311's cover of Love Song was a very good rendition.

You've just go to look at it and listen to it as a different song, not compare the two directly. Otherwise it turns into a generational thing, with someone who grew up listening to the original blasting the cover and younger people that prefer the cover saying the original was crappy and too old.

actually, i think 311's cover of lovesong was one of the best cover's i've ever heard. it was *very* true to the original, as opposed to one of those damn bands that thinks they can make a song sound completely different and it will still sound good.

most covers suck, as the band tries to change things as much as possible while still keeping the same lyrics/melody. IMHO, changing timing patterns just to make the song different is the worst thing you can do.

I've always liked KMFDM's redo of Mysterious Ways.

Shinedown's cover of "Simple Man" was very craptastic

A perfect cirle does a cover where they mesh Diary of a Madman with Love Song. very interesting and pretty bada$$.
