Howdy all, this question is for the book readers out here. Has anyone read any Robert Ludlum books, other than his bourne series? I'd like ya'lls opinions on them before i decide to read them.

Besides a few of the Bourne books I've read The Road to Gandolfo and The Road to Omaha which are amusing tounge and cheek thrillers. Avoid The Apocalypse Watch, a stupid and poorly written book. Only picked it up because I really enjoyed the The Road to __ books.

i'm in the middle of Parsifal Mosaic-- its pretty good

I've read a bunch. They are ok, if you like that sort of thing. Kind of like Clancy but without all the details/accuracy.

I used to like him alot more. The more of him you read, the more he gives you tired head.

Parsifal Mosaic is a good starter. Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy would be good follow-ups.

After that, you may start to get tired head!

I remember really enjoying The Matarese Circle...

again, if you like those kinds of books, i think he's prety hard to beat.

I started reading Apocalypse but got bored since I'm used to reading Clancy.

Is it true that the books are nothing like the movies?

i read Bourne Supremacy and enjoyed it. that's one book/movie that you can't compare because they're two completely different stories. Marie doesn't even die in the book.

the movies are much different from the books....especially the second one.
the first one kept the basic premise - an assasin gets amnesia, etc. - but did not include the villain (Carlos) at all.

i'm not slamming the movies...i enjoyed both...they're just different than the book

I've read and enjoyed most of his books. I'd recoomend the Matarese books, Sigma Protocol, and Parsifal Mosaic as well.

Also, if you like this type of book look for an author named Vince Flynn. I recently re-read all of his books and was just as captivated as the first time through. He writes CIA/assasin spy thrillers.
