I always find DiCaprio to be very unbelievable in his character portrayals (What's Eating Gilbert Grape aside), but his role as Howard Hughes in The Aviator takes the cake. I suppose I could be wrong this time, but in the previews I've seen he just looks like a 14 year old kid like always.

Burns:(Holding a model airplane) Smithers, I've designed a new plane. I call it the "Spruce Moose", and it will carry two hundred passengers from New York's Idyllwild Airport to the Belgian Congo in seventeen minutes!
Smithers: That's quite a nice model, sir.

The Dougie Hauser syndrome.

He is a good actor, but his voice and appearance limit his range. I am a huge Scorcese fan and I have no interest in seeing this because I cannot buy Leo as Howard Hughes.

why exactly cant you buy him? because he did titanic?

I've been having the same problem. The trailers look great, but I've seen so many biographies with Hughes as a tall lanky "man's man" looking guy. DiCaprio looks like he's 17.

Therefore, I have a problem with the producers and the integrity of the film if they felt it important to have a "face" as Hughes.

As stated above, I cannot buy him because he looks 12. He is a good actor and I like many of the movies he has been in, but he looks like a child.

Even if Gary Coleman was the greatest actor in the world, I still would not have wanted to see him play Muhammed Ali or Martin Luther King in a biopic.

Totally agree. He looks 14, and that movie is of no interest to me, given his lead role.
