Maybe a little of both, though I'm still considering what to do.
Months ago, I decided that once AI got good enough for me to do it on my own, I was going to relaunch my old movie and TV release date website, The Projection List. Well, AI is there now, in terms of capability, so I've been chipping away at it when I have the time. And a big of part of that includes using AI to help me track every new trailer for way more distributors/streamers than I was tracking casually for posting here. In fact, as of now, there are 81 movies being released across theaters, digital, and streamers this month, and to pair those down to something manageable I can post here each month has increasingly become more and more of a chore.
Basically, I have a giant spreadsheet keeping track of every movie (over 900 of then between January 2026 and 2031), and I can easily have AI spit out all October 2026 releases into the posting format I use here on the board. But from there it would take me an hour+ just to go through them all and whittle them down to the 20-30 that could fit into a single thread here. And I just haven't had that hour+ yet in the past few days, and don't know if it's worth the effort going forward, between now and when the site is launched next year.
Especially considering an Entertainment board poster, Mr. President Elect, already built the site below, which tracks all of my movie trailer thread posts and series trailer thread posts, providing what I was doing monthly, except in really cool calendar/interactive form. Is it as comprehensive as my own internal list? No. But it's close to all the highlights I'd be whittling down to anyways, and until my site is ready, it's probably easier for everyone to just use his version...
