Y'all are both right. The movie is an adaptation of Eaters of the Dead, which drew from a couple sources, including Beowulf.

Jim caveizel crashed a spaceship into Viking times. Has to convince them to fight some monsters. Love it

Reign of Fire is MM's best work and a sore reminder of the sort of movies we miss - insane premise, very little logic, and the Americans being bad-asses.

The scene where the helicopter flies in always sticks with me.

King Arthur is very good on a small budget, especially the fight on the ice.

I love that flawed 2004 version of the Alamo, and I listen to the soundtrack often when I write Tx History books.
