Your rankings are correct.

I expect 5 to be between TS3 and TS4

90 minutes of Andy wiping his ass would be better than Toy Story 4

Should have stopped at 3. It's was a perfect trilogy with great ending.

It's only a matter of time before we get a Woody origin story at this rate. .

After seeing it last night, revised order is 2,1,3,5,4

Overall, it's an entertaining movie with an engaging plot. Some new characters pop up along the way and one in particular steals every scene Conan O'Brien. The movie also focuses more on the human characters than ever before.

However, nothing has been the same since Andy left for college. The first three movies have a vibe that the last two don't.

I disagree. With all the crap movies out these days, this was a wonderful movie to enjoy with the family.

This and Sheep Detectives are movies worth making and watching

Took the wife and kids (8 and 6) to see it yesterday. Everyone loved it. Great message for kids and parents that is spot on for today's society. A few clever adult jokes mixed in that I appreciated.

Wish some of the other original characters from TS 1 got more involvement. They felt like an afterthought of well we have to put them in somewhere.

Oh and Bonnie's parents miss me off.

Imagine the origin story for just a moment.

We start in this wonderous Asian land, commonly known as China. We follow a peasant worker into a glorious factory. We see the peasant sit down at a table and work for a few minutes constructing Woody. Then the peasant places Woody in a box for shipment to the United States.

Cut to credits.

Saw this tonight and really enjoyed it. Got teary-eyed at one point which is always a sign of a good Pixar. Conan's character was hysterical and I have to wonder how many of those jokes were ad libbed.

The original trilogy was pretty much perfect. TS 2 is a top 3 Pixar for me - I love the whole gang on the adventures together. It was a sad realization for me that many of the voice actors of the old gang have passed on the last few years.

My 12 year-old wants to watch this. Probably this weekend. My 20 year-old has no interest in this or minions this summer. She used to love them. Movies have always been one of those areas we didn't push back on each other. I feel like I should be pissed after watching endless hours of cartoon movies I didn't want to see but I guess this is part of growing up. I'm close to being a full-grown adult.

We loved it. Funny and touching throughout. Pixar did an amazing job capturing the current environment of kids in a screen-saturated world. For our 6 year old girl who is very much like Bonnie - loves being outside, big imagination, and doesn't have a tablet like her friends, it hit so close to home. She thought it was great and even walked out talking about how those screens aren't really playtime. Great family evening at the movies.

I also liked that it showcased that it wasn't only the kids in a screen saturated world. Dad on zoom, the family using GPS going on their hike, the glimpses in the houses at night with all the glowing screens, and the Ferris Bueller-esque chase through the house that none of the humans noticed. It definitely got me thinking of my own screen time issues and make me use my Brick more.

Just saw this.

1. The animation is so different than the original. If I go back and watch TS 4, I doubt it looks similar. Wow!

2. They nailed it as far as what toys these days are and what kids are into.
3. We giggled a lot. Very entertaining and funny.

I cant imagine another film coming after this one. #5 is definitely worth theater dollars

Watched it with 12 and 20 year olds. They loved the movie. I don't know how anybody that has seen the others doesn't like this movie. We loved the addition of Smarty Pants. One of its lines brought the house down in the theater. Everybody was laughing. Theater was sold out.

I wish I had got one of these....with beer instead of soda

It was definitely better than I thought going in. At some point, I figured they'd just mail it in for a few extra bucks but this had a great story line. Very good and the whole family enjoyed it.

The scene and song in TS2 during Jesse's flashback always gets me.
I really liked all the throwbacks and references to that.

Whelp…put me in the "it was ok" camp. Definitely had a few moments that made me laugh (pretty much all of Conan's) and Forky had a much smaller role which was nice because man I found him annoying in TS-4.

But overall there was only one funny character to me. The story didn't really blow me away. The typical TS characters had zero to do. The emotional hook of Jessie realizing her kid as an adult named her daughter after her didn't really resonate with me at all. If anything the scene where Bonnie breaks down crying in the car after showing her mom what her friends said about her hit me as a parent much harder…but that's still peanuts to other emotional Pixar movies like Inside Out, Coco, Toy Story 3, and Up.

How they showed the "imagination/playing" of the kids was pretty entertaining. Enjoyed all of those little moments.

My oldest (14) found Bonnie to be pretty annoying. His exact words were "adoption" and said the story should have been about the other girl she seemed way more interesting.

Also…in the world they've created everyone should be at least suspicious that these toys are sentient and alive. The group of buzz lightyears 5 minutes in to "waking up" somehow discovered fire and we've got toys sending emails and riding horses in this one…at the very least Sid has a conspiracy YouTube channel about toys being alive and a group of followers with evidence and cameras backing up his claims from his traumatic childhood experience…

Anyway…better than 4…but still WAY below 1-3. Props to those who really liked it. Think I'm just one that checked out after 3 and don't think these characters have any more important stories to tell.

Updated rankings for me.
TS2
TS5
TS1
TS3
TS4

Anecdote: Maybe because I'm a homeschool parent and see the world playing out for my kids as they did for Bonnie. My 9 yr old still plays, and very creatively, with his younger sister and brother. I see him struggle with his "best friend" who is a baseball perennial all star and just talks a big game, runs his mouth, and has the tech. It hit home, so maybe that had a play in the rankings.

Characters, music, storyline, nostalgia - all hit home.
