this show went off the rails pretty quickly.

watching these supposedly smart/successful characters make the exact wrong decision every damn time (along with convenient tropes like the idiot daughter bringing her dads gun with her) just make everything way too convenient.

I will continue to hate watch of course.

I think this show is great. I can't invest the attention in a multi season show, so I love the limited series.

IMO, Cape Fear fizzled down the stretch. Really liked the first 7 episodes.

Was the ending with Anna turning around to look at something an indicator they might try to get another season? If so, not sure I'd watch it or not.

In the end, I think De Niro's portrayal of Cady was much better. Had hopes Bardem could top it after the first half of the season but felt his character didn't develop much towards the end.

Didn't care for the ending scene in the house. Anna came across as a terrible person by the end of the season.

Bardem was great in this, but this show was absolutely terrible. Worst thing I've seen on Apple outside of Stick.

Both parents are absolutely awful.

ETA: javier bardem was awesome. The parents are terrible. No idea how they make this into multiple seasons.

I thought Bardem was good, but no way should they bring this back. The story ended up being pretty frigging bad. All of the characters sucked and made nonsensical decisions, and even the whole underlying premise ultimately sucked. Maybe it was a casualty of trying to fill 10 episodes because it had something early on, but it lost it in a big way. Boo this show. Boo.

Also - very hot take here given she's been nominated for 6 Oscars (5 for supporting) and it's 100% fine if folks disagree, but for a long time I've been on the "Amy Adams is overrated" train. Not every role, but as leads, I tend to sense "this person is acting" vs buying the character.

I can't put this one all on her because I think the writing overall was bad, but there was a lot of that here.

I thought it was fantastic.

Trashterpiece. Max jumping through the window on Zach like a spider monkey was chef's kiss. Every time he said yury during the "trial" had me rolling. So many flaws but I couldn't look away.

I do think "judge, permission to treat this witness as hostile" followed by a violent punch to the face should be allowed in regular court proceedings

Wild show. It went off the rails, but was still incredibly entertaining. Javier Bardem was awesome and the other performances were all good.

Wild that nothing ever happened with Neveah's mom?! Her face got bashed in, Anna showed up at the crime scene and got prints all over the place and then we never heard about that woman again.

The last two episodes dragged. Overall it was a good show.
