My wife and I were wondering how in the world did Garret get to City Hall on his bike that fast. You'd think Loftis would have seen him in his way to the light house.

Not much to this episode -- just setting up for Episode 10 -- I hope the season finale doesn't disappoint!

Has there been any word on a season 2 announcement? Like is it even happening? More people need to watch this show.

Little things like that are how I've come to enjoy this show so much. This show is a combination of supernatural mystery/horror, full on cringey awkward situations, and outright silliness. I can't think of anything I've seen quite like it.

This is by far my favorite show at the moment.

Patricia closing the door in the old mans face while he kept talking made me burst out laughing.

I also laughed at the Shaman, in his last moments, still calling Tom "Wick". He died for a wet sock.

Aww yeah! I was getting a bit worried there wasn't enough buzz, but I do think it's gaining some momentum. I tell everyone that it's awesome and to give it a go.

Patricia with the flash light under chin had me rolling. Along with Ruth's thyroid results, WOW!

Also, "it feeds on fear, it likes it" Sounds familiar, Pennywise???

What was the significance of the broach? I guess I missed it from earlier in the season.

It was his wife's so he was perplexed as to why Ruth had it. Then we found out how.

Sarah, the woman that married Richard Warren, gave it to the little Warren girl when she (Sarah) was introduced to his family. Same little girl that fell off the boat. Then the other kids were asking if she had anything for them. Fast forward to the finale and we see Ruth with it, and she confirms it is a family heirloom.

In a flashback it showed Warren's new wife (Sarah, I think) pin the brooch on Richard Warren's daughter's doll. The daughter (Frances, I think) was missing a finger from a wagon wheel accident. Then when Sarah and the Warren children were trying to flee the island to get away from Richard Warren there was a painting that showed the daughter in the water, implying that she possibly survived. Then we see another painting of a grown woman wearing the brooch (and also missing a finger), lending credence to the theory that Richard Warren's daughter did indeed survive the attempt at fleeing the island. Then, when Tom sees the brooch in Ruth's collection it confirmed his suspicion that she is a descendant of Richard Warren.

I don't think this is correct. I don't think Ruth ever passed the brooch to Tom's wife. Ruth just kept it as a family heirloom.

I also think Ruth is still alive but Tom was trying to bury the evidence by throwing the brooch into the bay to protect his son. She's got that Warren blood so I think she's gonna be a tougher kill than a bullet or crushed up pills

The thing I was curious about was the video saying you needed so many sacrifices for the number of times the bell tolled.

There was one death at the end that stopped the storm, but then the belltower rang eight times while Tom was at the waterfront

So I assume that is what the beast is asking for and that will roll into next season? The one poor guy dying and serving as the first sacrifice just stopped or paused the storm?

Two just amazing comic moments in this episode: Patricia with the flashlight under her chin, campfire ghost story-style, and Jeff Hiller walking into the room with his jaw WIDE OPEN after watching the filmstrips.

Good catch! I knew there was something to that but couldn't put my finger on it.
