Would love to see McQ take it

Are we sure Top Gun 3 would take place after Maverick? It would be a bit weird to go a few years back, but it seemed there were a lot of major events that were lightly referenced to the not too distant past in Maverick that could be material for a movie.

It will be a procedural drama about Mav pulling Rooster's papers. No airplanes in the movie at all.

I'll put it this way…

- Digger, Cruise's next movie, releases in 2026.

- Days of Thunder 2, Cruise's next movie after that, releases in 2028.

- Then, finally, is Top Gun 3. Follow that two-year gap/trend and you can see where I'm going with this…
