Yep, kids sports is ruining the bottom line of this movie. Seriously though, the younger Gen X'ers and upper millennials I know just don't seem to have a lot of extra time for movies these days...they have to be very selective when they do go.


Kids would rather be on YouTube or TikTok instead of going to the movies. I think obsession and back rooms did well because of social media. I guess those 2 movies did something different beyond using shills and influencers

Thought he played a creepy tyrannical billionaire with a God-complex better than Gosling or Dicaprio or many other top actors could have tbh. I realize that humans are diverse and have many different opinions on a single subject though.

Great movie for this genre

BTW, my 13 year old boy texted all his buddies afterwards that they all need to go see it. I'm betting there is some decent word of mouth going on right now.

This was me. My 19yo and I watched S1E1 on Prime before going. The whole thing was just fun. Perfect summer/ Father's Day movie.

My boys and I saw it yesterday. It was TONS of fun. Best movie I've seen this summer for sure. too bad it didn't do well at the box office. But it 100% is a fun time at the movies

Saw it as well this weekend. As a 51 year old that grew up playing with Masters of the Universe toys I loved it. It was corny and humorous in all the right ways. I told my wife it was like if a 10 year old from 1985 wrote a movie and got it produced in todays day and age. Even the mild sexual humor was the way my friends and I talked to each other before we really knew anything much about sex. It obviously has a niche audience and I got my monies worth out of it. Not a bad way to spend $20 and a couple hours on a weekend night.

My personal opinion is yes. Read the book. Lots of detail left out in the movie that helps tell the story and apart of the overall experience. I'd start there and then follow up with the book.

This! The book has so much in it that will help flesh out the story of the movie. Its in the rotation of novels I pull out when I'm lacking something to read.

As I tell everyone, I think the movie is great, and still made better by having read the book.

I took my dad and son to see it, we all enjoyed it. (80s kid here.)

2nd that Project Hail Mary is an outstanding book that makes the movie better.
I picked out and understood so much more on my second viewing after having listened to the Audiobook. Ray Porter by the way is a fantastic narrator.

I feel like if word gets out on prime that it's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously then there's a chance a sequel could happen. It could be a really fun franchise!

Watched the other night, I thought it was ok.

The concept behind the tone was right, but it was a bit all over the place and didn't quite land a lot of the time. Fun enough but generally forgettable, based on the box office I'd be surprised if we get a sequel.

I really enjoyed it. The music was epic. Leto crushed it. Some of the origin story about being weak was a bit much and the HR stuff. Although it was like a jab at HR. Fun stuff for 80s kids.

Watched it last night on Prime. I thought it laid into humor a tad too much at times, but overall a fun watch.

Agreed on Leto. I typically can't stand him, but he laid into the goofiness of Skeletor and it actually landed this time.

I grew up with the cartoon and action figures. The movie attempted to come across as campy and failed. Trudy was an awful choice as Evil-Lyn. MB would have been a better Evil-Lyn and I'd prefer to see her sexy ass on screen more often than she was.
