I liked the part where the Mom cheated on Dad. Dad, a struggling but now sober born-again Christian, was blamed for not coming straight home after work to enjoy her company. He seemingly took it hard. Mom doesn't tell her family the sordid truth so the blame largely goes on him.

It was a ****ed up situation all around for sure, one that just kept spiraling.

Two episodes left, btw.

I know it's not your typical whodunnit true crime series - it's way more reflective and meditative - but I hope you guys are enjoying it.

For the record, the television series version we're developing, if it comes to fruition, will be more "sensationalized," for lack of a better word, "inspired by" a true story, not based on a true story. It'll use the same basic family dynamic/setup to tell a much broader, more epic family crime saga. More of a Heat-like cat-and-mouse game between two brothers on opposites sides of the law (and border, at times). Gabe understands that in order for it to be viable, the TV version will need to take liberties, involve more action, be something that can span multiple seasons, etc.

Still, the podcast is extremely compelling in its own right, and first and foremost we're so glad that Gabe and his family get to tell their story, as it actually happened.
