Caught this movie this afternoon. Pretty funny, dark, and poignant.

I liked it. First half was pretty solid. Second half wasn't as strong to me as the story shifted away from Mickey and became more about resolving bigger events.

Mark Ruffalo was hilarious btw.

Not the movie I expected, in a good way.

I almost walked out halfway through the movie. Robert Pattison was excellent as Mickey. There were some funny/good parts, but overall, this movie had nothing interesting to say compared to Snowpiercer and parasite. Just Very boring

The villain is a white Christian guy who has supporters wearing red baseball caps. Are you picking up on the nuance guys? Do you get it?

Agreed, I wanted to walk out several times, pretty weak overall but I liked the originality of it.

Honestly it was a waste of a couple of hours, despite the great acting from ruffalo and Pattison.

I was expecting more sci if battle starship troopers and got a movie about Care Bears.

Directly lifting a quote from Critical Drinker's video?

Wouldn't exactly call Ruffalo's character, nor who you think it's referring to, as "Christian", just using the church to his own gain. He wanted everyone to worship him, not Him. I saw him as more of a power hungry Joel Osteen type.

Yep exactly. Exactly what Ruffalos character was, and I actually really enjoyed the smug idiot.

He used the Christian thing only a couple times in the movie, and it was just to promote himself. The prayer was hilarious.

Right on about olsteen too, the pretender. He combines religion and self help for personal gain.

Naomi Ackie was excellent. Very happy to see her get a major role, and to see Nasha standing tall was a great feeling. Joon-ho deserves credit for refusing studio notes (his contract guaranteed final edit), a test screening, and his stand against online criticism of his casting (he's been very outspoken about Representation, a welcomed relief in the face of recent "blowback" against Hollywood pro-BIPOC efforts).

Warners took a big budget swing and it paid off.

I didn't want to walk out but I did find it boring as well. Just not enough tension or suspense to keep me locked in. On the flip side not well written or compelling dialogue to keep me engaged. But Pattinson and Ruffallo we're awesome, so was Toni Collette- sauces! 3 out 5 and would not watch it again.

Pretty disappointed in this one. Not terrible by any means, looked good, Pattison did a nice job, etc, but the story never really grabbed me. Ruffalo's Trump impression was really grating, I thought. Not sure what Bong should have done differently, but just didn't work all that well for me.

Saw it tonight. It was entertaining. Decent plot. Not a lot of action, and there was a bit of a pause in the middle, but overall it has a decent pace. Some pretty good laughs. Not a Pattinson fan but thought he was good in this role. The Rufalo character felt like an amalgamation of Trump, Musk, and a TV preacher. Solid, but I can see how he could be grating (but I think that was the point). Toni Collette's character was nutters and well played.

I would have liked to have seen Ruffalo lean much more into the televangelist side of things, but I get my Bong probably wasn't the right guy to write that part.

I walked out as soon as they had morons in red baseball caps.

Seriously though, I enjoyed the first quarter, hated the second quarter, and enjoyed the third quarter. Tolerated the 4th quarter.

Up and down movie.

I'll give is 3 out of 5 stars.

Honestly would've loved to hear what Ebert right about it.

Pretty surprised by the reactions on this thread. We just saw it tonight and thought it was surprisingly good. It's one of those that I could see being even better as a mini-series.
