Bryant Roses has a new album, Brink it Back Around. In it he does country covers of punk/pop punk songs. He started just playing around releasing a few demos and finally put together an album of them. I was pretty skeptical at first, but the arrangements are actually pretty good.

A lot of punk and some pop punk music lends itself very easily to country or folk.

I used to go down the rabbit hole of Revival Tour back in 2010-2012 with a lot of great punk bands getting together and playing acoustic folky versions of their songs. Used to love those renditions.

Definitely accentuates how many punk and pop punk bands actually write great lyrics. And even better, most are written by one or a a couple of guys in the band, not by a team of 6-10 professional pop music writers.

Always loved this collab between many of those guys:

Love Canon is another one of my favorites in a similar vein.

They mostly cover 80s music but the arrangement, vocal, and production is top notch.

I like some of what Cody Parks and the Dirty South puts out. They have a mean combo of Rob Zombie and Johnny Cash called Thunder Cash, along with a few others I like.

They do more of a rock cover of country though.
