What's it about?
Overview - Detective Kat Donovan's world unravels when she finds her estranged fianc on a dating app; this leads Kat to reopen the unsolved mystery surrounding her father's murder.
It's all british (uk) setting and actors....so be prepared for some "liberal" tones.

I read the book, which was great. Harlan Coben is money. My wife watched the first season, and it sounds too changed up for my tastes.
I love Coben books. I haven't watched many of the series.
These seem sorta hallmarky to me. Bad guys have scowl on their face like they have to always look evil. Acting not terrible, but not great.
Meh i thought it was ok. Justx finished it. All his books adapted to netflix series are all the same to me.
Oh, and that's a dude. They aren't tricking anybody.
And the last show that I think these guys made, Fool Me Once, was equally hallmarky. If I remember right, the protagonist was supposedly some military chick who could kick anybody's ass. And yet she was so smoking hot (and small), that disbelief was impossible to suspend.
I just watched the finale. Even more cringe than I imagined it would be.
The whole son abduction scene was ridiculous. He's on the phone with his mom who is telling him to STOP, and he thinks, "but I'm going to ignore you and get into this van of the bad guy who just threatened your life to SAVE YOU!"
The whole shootout scene made no sense. She has the drop on him and he is able to turn a shotgun on her and she just ducks? And why the hell did he give a rats ass about the mom at that point anyway? He was afraid she may tell the police? Never mind the big ass fire and the 50 burning bodies he thought was in the barn. Or the dead guy in the study with an axe wound and about 10 gallons of blood all over the floor?
And, I was joking with my wife that Parker would be a dude, and was accidentally right.
It was like somebody had a fever dream and wrote it down as a script. Surely the books aren't this bad?

Finale was weird. Show was decent but not one of Corben's best on Netflix.

Not sure. Never read his books.
