Look, I've streamed music before, have a carefully curated YouTube favorites listing (including a biannual cull), and appreciate the compactness of the disc format. It's not as if I would tolerate no other formats and regard other listening modes as cultural philistinism.
However, an attentive listener must store the collection in plastic sleeves and clean them with dusters. Learn to balance vinyl between the palms. Appreciate and lower the recording onto my aforementioned turntables as if performing a ritual - for that's what a session should be. Learn to perform inspection of the stylus.
It is not wrong to ask:
We might both enjoy music, we may even like the same artists, but do you listen to them correctly? Do you have an understanding of format?
I wouldn't end relationships over it, but learn to cultivate your musical communications toward education.

Please realize, a good vinyl pressing played on a good stereo system is simply superior to any high definition 24-bit digital file. So, find a vinyl sommelier, especially for hardware.
