Had the chance to meet Lin Manuel Miranda a few years back and told him I thought Hamilton was a work of genius (I really think it is inspired). He seem genuinely surprised and appreciative and very down to earth.

Seen the play a few times and would jump at the chance to see it again. So many great songs and historically interesting tidbits. Don't hesitate to see this musical.

Love LMM in Hamilton and In the Heights.

I watched it with the original cast with the best Orchestra seats in the house (have very well connected and very rich family members in Connecticut who got us the tickets), and more recently touring in Houston.

My only problem with Lin Manuel Miranda is that he is the biggest Beto fan in the world. LMM came here to campaign for Beto in 2022 against Abbott even though he has never lived in Texas a day in his life.

Willie is a Texan born just north of Waco. Lin Manuel Miranda is a Marxist from New York.

He endorsed Lina Hidalgo for Harris County Judge - he's a pretty hardcore Democrat activist to be getting involved in local races where he doesn't live.

It's great. My teenage sons loved it.

Oh yeah - watch In the Heights too (with subtitles). That'd be another way to tell if you'll like Hamilton without spoiling Hamilton.

He's pro-diversity and pro-immigrant but I think that's about it, as far as what comes through in his musicals.

Great show. If you don't like hip hop/rap, then you probably won't like the show. That's the usual complaint I've seen from people who didn't like it.
Also, there is very little spoken dialogue, so listening to the music is key to keeping up.
