The Conjuring movies are pretty scary, especially if you have decent sound. If gore is what you want, Terrifier 2 will do it. First one is gory but the second is a step further. I haven't seen the third yet. I always enjoy Trick r Treat, Silent Hill, and Drag Me To Hell. They don't scare me, but I love their mood this time of year.

So technically, based on undeniable scientific research, Sinister is the scariest movie of all time (out of the 30 movies chosen to compare).

Smile was pretty good. I think that was the latest one I've seen that was theatrically released. Also a big fan of their promos (placing weird smiling people in very public places); the sequel is coming out soon.

Based on those movies (and the follow-up mention of Hereditary), you've basically got to shift to a different genre of horror. You've established J-Horror, generic horror villain, claustrophobic horror and family horror (I never know how to classify Hereditary because I refuse to classify things as 'elevated') don't do the trick.

So you've got to come at her from different angles. Maybe she balks at religious horror and can't handle The Exorcist? Out in the mother nature and **** starts hitting the fan - Blair Witch Project or The Ritual? Maternal fears - Rosemary's Baby or Inside? Intruder films - The Strangers or Hush?

You are just plain evil.

I grew up in a house that bordered the edge of some woods (that are now gone). We regularly had big spiders in our house. Often times those ****ers crawled into my bed when I was sleeping. And for that reason, I have a serious case of arachnophobia. I have never seen the movie, and will never watch it. Hell, it took a minor miracle for me to get through the spider parts of The Hobbit and Return of the King.

Be sure to watch this one at night, with no lights on. The way Ridley Scott shot the movie, with lots of strobe lights flashing at times, will fill your living room.

Other suggestions - The Exorcist, The Omen, Paranormal Activity, or Poltergeist

If she's that desensitized, she probably needs to be really terrified with a harsh dose of reality.

The Sound of Music not only showcases a virtuous Christian woman serving the family unit, but Maria is also shown to be a strong female lead. Concepts of virtue, love, morality and self sacrifice are enough to scare many in 2024.

77-0 at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Nothing worse than watching an opponent kneel the ball beginning of the 4th quarter. Never seen anything like it.
