When auditioning for the part, the casting director advised "dare to bore me". The other actresses auditioning were all dolled up, but she dressed down to suit the character. When asked questions, she gave terse, single word responses.

She WAS Pam.

I produced a staged reading of one of her husband Lee's scripts years ago that she was on stage for - hung with her and her husband in the bar after. They are close in age to me and our kids were both around 2 or 3 at the time so we basically just hung out and talked about being new-ish parents. Super down to earth, nice people. Her husband is from Texas. And yes I think Pam was hot.

This, for me, is her definitive role. The Apex Mountain.

Walk Hard is very underrated, and a top 10 comedy of all time. I've thought this since theatre, opening night, and recall the observation above whenever "Pam" is mentioned.
