I didn't see an official thread started yet so hopefully I didn't just overlook it.

Season 2 starts this Friday. I know that I previously felt like Season 1 fizzled out somewhat towards the end, but I just rewatched it all, binging it over 3 nights. This time around I felt like it held together much better than I previously thought. Yeah, the "surprise" wasn't much of a surprise, but all in all its still a very well written show that has me looking forward to a second season. Highly recommend a rewatch before starting season 2.

Oh man this series.

It started so strong, the pilot being one of the best I think I have ever seen. However, I felt the show had lost much of its mojo by the end of the first season. I previously attributed that to the break in production while Jeff Bridges recovered from cancer.

These first couple of episodes don't have my hopes up. It has lost much of the espionage/thriller aspect that made it so intriguing in the first place. Now it feels more like a soap opera, Afghan Yellowstone if you will.

Watched the first two episodes. I'm thoroughly confused who Omar works for. Taliban? Afghan government?

And Emily/Angela is kinda annoying me. Is she now turning sympathetic to an Afghan terrorist within 3 weeks' time?

Yeah, he just left her behind.

The big reveal was that Chase's daughter wasn't really his daughter, she was Hamzad's daughter. (Duh, we all saw that coming at least midway through the season).

This season is just a different show than Season 1. No mystery, no intrigue, just drama about the daughter deciding who she wants to be. Its ok, in a different way, but not as good or interesting as Season 1.

Amy Brenneman is in the season 2 promos, so she does make a return.

Episode 3 was an improvement with more action, but I'm still not as impressed as the early part of season 1. I don't get the daughter's sudden love for her biological father.

I did find this promo picture for this season, which I think is pretty cool. The Dude kicking ass and taking names. This image and the trailers with "Black Hole Sun" are not the series we have gotten so far this season.

I just can't deal with Angela/Emily/Parwana. She's such an unlikable character. If I found out today that my real dad was Osama bin Laden or Joe Biden or any other awful person in history, I wouldn't suddenly give a s**t about them. They're just as awful after the breaking news as they were before.

And it doesn't help that on top of her just being generally insufferable, she always has a look on her face like something stinks.

Tried to watch season 2 episode 4. Just about unwatchable.

Amazing how fast this show went from pretty good to complete dog poop…

Didn't live up to its start, but this show isn't nearly as bad as what's said on this thread. It's better than 90% of what's new out there to watch
