Rewatched Edge of Tomorrow and the Mimics from that movie were awesome to see in action. The way they moved and looked over all felt so alien and repugnant to me. Which is exactly what they were gunning for obviously. Thought they nailed it.



But overall I think I am still going to have to give the nod to Durin's Bane, the Balrog. I was in awe when I saw it in theaters. The overwhelming sense of power and doom captured in that scene I genuinely felt. Still my favorite depiction of a fictional creature on a screen to date for me I think. What are some others?

Hard to beat this...

I rewatched Edge of Tomorrow on a flight last week and I think it may be in my top 10 all time films. And I say that as someone that typically hates "groundhog day" type stuff.

Regarding aliens, you aren't beating Alien. It is the stuff of nightmares from a truly gifted, yet freakish, artist.


The ETs of Arrival were pretty damned good:


Ditto for the little grey dudes in Close Encounters of the Third Kind:


It's hard to disregard an actual creature: (never mind, I missed the word "fictional")


Your brunette Supergirl is nice looking, but I'll go with the original Supergirl (terrible movie):

The Thing (1982)…if you've never watched it please don't spoil it for yourself.

The design of the engineered vampires from blade 2 are way too underrated….

I think almost everyone's favorite will be Alien. It just stands out to me.

Here are some other favorites:
This giant alien from Stephen King's "The Mist" was one that stands out to me. Gigantic, mysterious & weird.

The new "Gorn" in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds are a very cool take:

The big boss fungus zombie on "The Last of Us" was pretty awesom:

There were some comical clips of the Night King riding the dragon in battle, but the initial entry was pretty awesome.

Overall I thought the NK was a badass character on screen.

These guys in Apple's "Invasion" are pretty damned creepy. Just as creepy when they become "wolves".

Helmeted Predator was in the top running for me. Blade 2 mutated vamps above you also was a damn good design as well. But Predator 1 one was just....menacing in a way that could be felt.



Also gave us one of the most badass unapologetically masculine and testosterone fueled rampages of all time!

I had forgotten about that one (mentally blocked?). Which then reminded me of the Cenobites from the Pinhead universe which may have scarred me mentally as a kid and conveniently forgot about as well. That damned chattering teeth one messed up my sleep for a while.
