Looking at going to a show at Dickies Area in Fort Worth tonight. Found 60.00 tickets on Stub Hub.

Service Fee is 30.00 x 2 = 60 plus tax.

Anyway to find a better deal and avoid the fees?

They do have 10.00 tickets up in the ozone with a service fee of 8 bucks…

We don't go to many concerts. Are tickets generally available from scalpers?

Thanks Ags.

Short answer is probably not. It's always good to check with the venues box office and use their service (typically Ticketmaster, live nation or axs). There still will be fees, but typical day of you can find face value (if "dynamic" pricing isn't in effect). Stubhub might be cheaper list price, but fees never make it cheap.

Typically concerts don't have scalpers outside the buildings, but you might run into a nice person with extras.

Fees are part of the ticket price. Artists are getting a cut of them as well as Ticketmaster.

For most artists, "face value" doesn't exist anymore. That 10th row ticket may be $90 at 9am when it goes on sale, but it could be $125 by 9:10am if the artist uses dynamic pricing. It could also be $45 an hour before showtime if demand isn't there. This is why "restricted transfer but you can sell on our face value marketplace" is a trap. It's just a way to force you into an anti-competitive ecosystem.

Pay what you think a ticket is worth. Don't let the sites dictate to you what they should be worth.

You would think there would be a website that's whole deal is selling tickets with no hidden fees. No matter if they ended up being the same price ultimately as the big dogs.

that ignores decades of research on consumer behavior.

there's a reason why StubHub makes you click through 10 screens before you can see their silly fees.

ETA: I have noticed that Ticketmaster toys around with "all inclusive" pricing occasionally. They were posting those prices for the 311 show last week, and I know they had $25 "all in" pricing last Summer.

Ticketmaster and Seat Geek both have filters where you can see the "price including fees". So it's not like you have to wait to see them while looking for tickets.

But you can't avoid them.

Stubhub also has the "Show prices with fees" toggle on the filter menu at the bottom. One of the apps, TickPick maybe, does the "no fees" thing but often ends up similar to the others.

Is it cheaper going to the box office of the venue?

Go straight to the box office. Went to see monster jam last year because the kids love monster trucks. Ticketmaster/online sales fees were like $20 a ticket. Went to the box office and got them at face value. Same thing for Disney on ice. Saved about $100 on convenience fees by making the 15 minute trip to just buy them in person.

Depending on the artist this is always the first place I look:

Don't go. Wait for some ******* who did to post his phone video of it on YouTube.

George Strait at Kyle Field was great. Ask me how I know...

He was going to Barry Manilow. I'm not sure anyone going to a Barry Manilow concert knows how to upload it to YouTube.

Went to BM. Waited until three hours before the show and 45 dollar first row, second deck tix dropped to 21 bucks.
Service fees were 8 per ticket. Tax was 2 .

Total 62. / 2 Hatch Chile burgers at Fred's + 2 Schooners of Shiner = 25 bucks

Parking 12.

Concert and dinner for under 100.

Wifey loves Barry Manilow. She was very generous…

I once bought a ticket at the House of Blues box office for a show that was about to start. They still charged a "convienence" fee. I guess the convienence was that I didn't have to get in the car and drive to a secondary location?
