Phil Donahue died today at age 88. Hosted a serious daytime talk show for an amazing 29 years and close to 7,000 episodes. He was a self-proclaimed liberal and often discussed progressive topics, but he also believed in letting everyone have a say.

He was married to "That Girl" Marlo Thomas.
