Some of my favorites from the mid to late 70s when I was 8-10 years old or so.

We were living with my maternal grandparents when this show started. My grandfather had been in the Pacific during WWII. I loved watching this show, but I do remember a quiet annoyance with the show coming from my grandfather. Later, I came to understand that it wasn't the show itself, but just a reminder of what the Japanese took from him (time with young family, damn near died twice).

I had a 12-inch action figure that you could look through his "bionic eye".

After the summer of 1977, science fiction became all the rage. Then it came to TV in 1978.

Then another science fiction show.

my brother and I have talked about the OG Battlestar and Buck Rogers for the past 45 years.

Best part of Buck (other than then women) was that somehow mankind no longer knew what the thumbs-up gesture meant until Buck showed up.

Buck also gave me the scariest memory of my childhood the GD Space Vampire.

I remember after Buck Rogers on Thursday, being able to stay up late for the original CSI and NCIS, Quincy M.E.
Then I think Quincy ended up following Different Strokes and Fact of Life.

However, I remember almost all these intros for these old TV shows. You not only had to watch (no skip intro), but a lot of these shows I watched multiple times in syndication due to lack of options. Now, I'm not sure I ever watch an intro while streaming.

My guess is several older posters on here remember the Quincy introduction when all the cops faint or turn away even though they hadn't seen this intro in 30+ years.

I envied the kids who had that action figure.

I loved watching that show and can remember being legitimately scared when he would have to face Bigfoot (portrayed by Andre the Giant).

I also remember the great frustration that Jamie Sommers couldn't stay around the Steve Austin because of conflicts between their bionics.

I also had the rocket ship that you could open it up and it turned into an operating table for Steve Austin. It was really cool.

That show had a lot of freaky stuff that made an impression as a kid. The satyr, birdman...

I just love the whole idea of Buck: He's been frozen for 500 years, they immediately restore him as a Captain, he goes on missions right away, English has not changed at all. I believe Gary Coleman was also on at least 2 episodes as another person who was from an earlier century.

I watched all of the shows mentioned in this thread as a kid. In fact, I just started watching old Chips episodes in the past couple of weeks. The 70s and early 80s were the absolute lowest point in automotive design.
