Rewatching this for the first time in 20 years, and it still holds up imo. We watched the hell out of this as kids in the 90's, but watching it as an adult, it's surprising to see how much adult oriented jokes fly over your head from when you are a kid.

Anyways, probably a cool story bro, but if you have kids, I recommend revisiting it.

One of my favorites:

"How's the toothache bub?"

"Ooooooooooh….the doctors pulled my wisdom teeth."

"So that explains why you've been acting so stupid."

Also when they were sabotaging their date:

"That's not sand that's kitty litter."

"Don't worry…it's mostly fresh."

Huh?

These are "remakes" of stuff from the 30's and 40's. How old are you?

I watched the original when it was in reruns forever in the 70's. I didn't know they made a movie remake.

A classic movie for all 90's kids. Looking back it's funny how much they nailed that little affluent kid as a villain. I hated that dude.

My kids enjoyed the hack out of it.

They also like
The Sandlot
Homeward Bound
Dennis the Menace
Back to the Future etc etc.

The 90's were awesome.

I turned 22 in 1990. Yeah, I've never seen any of those movies or The Little Rascals.

I saw Sandlot 2 before seeing the first one. They are both good but the first one is better.

Here's a "cool story bro".

Church camp 1997 somewhere in central Texas. I was 9. Got bunked with the kid who finished #2 for the lead role, Alfalfa, in the Little Rascals.

Talent show night, he dresses up as Alfalfa and sings "You are so beautiful" and the whole damn place went wild.

There is a Sandlot 2? Was it in theaters?

Just looked it up, was released in 2005, straight to video. The plot sounds basically the same as the first, but with different kids.

Very similar plot. The tie to the space shuttle program is fun. And the fireworks show is at the Sandlot, not at the town festival/county fair.

that is a cool story. Could he do the ear wiggle like Bug Hall or is that why he lost the role?

He could do it all. I wish I had pictures I could post on here. Him and I were getting all the ladies. Mostly him because he was quasi famous after that talent show performance.

There's a Sandlot 3, too. It's also pretty solid. And Squints is in it.
