Cabin in the Woods seemed to really lean into being campy on purpose, so not sure if that counts, but it's my fav.

My favorite of all time is An American Werewolf in London. John Landis is such a supremely talented filmmaker, it's such a shame his hubris cost the lives of three people.

I'm not sure I agree this is campy. I can understand people thinking it is, but I don't think it is.

I can't really articulate why I think that though. In my mind, campy means the filmmakers are openly clowning around with the audience and admitting it. I don't think AWiL meets that criteria.

Not sure many of these outside of Evil Dead 2 actually qualify as campy.

Let me get into simpsons comic book nerd mode...

Cabin In the Woods is meta and toys with conventions, but not really campy.

Tucker & Dale vs Evil is a comedy.

Rawhead Rex, in all its pissing-on-evil-priest-glory, is not campy. B-movie-esque, but not campy.

Evil Dead 2
Dead Alive
Return of the Living Dead
Killer Klowns from Outer Space

Could throw in a Motel Hell or a Fright Night or even a They Live.

I'm not really sure how to define 'campy'.

If goofy, then I'm going with Tremors.

If something more serious sprinkled with some humorous/goofy stuff, then I probably like They Live.

Camp: absurdly exaggerated, artificial, or affected in a usually humorous way.

How would T&DVE not be considered camp? It's a horror movie made to be funny.

It's definitely absurd and exaggerated.

But hard for my to classify it as anything but a comedy. It's akin to calling Dracula: Dead and Loving It with Leslie Nielsen a horror movie.

The movie "Prophecy" freaked me out as a kid. This whacked out mutant bear slams this kid in a sleeping bag. This always came up when we camped!!!
