This guy does a decent cover of Amarillo by Morning. I think he performed at Kyle Field recently.

Here's the original:

This remake is one I could watch for quite a while. There is a common couple of themes in all her remakes.

Leonid and Friends doing Chicago is a great rabbit hole to go down.

The guitar solo in 25 or 6 to 4 is spot on with Kath.

Glad I used the search function first... here's some of my favorites:

And I love most things by Steve Welsh and Denis Pauna on Youtube... they cover songs as if they're another band that had wrote it, i.e. mimicking the sound and style of Alice in Chains over a pop song... for example:

This is one of the reasons why I love using Youtube Music over Spotify, Apple Music, etc. You will never find these unpublished covers on anything else but Youtube Music so it's great to be able to add all of these covers to my music library. Having ad-free youtube is just a plus.

Interesting. That almost a cover of a cover. It's in the style and pacing of David Draiman and Distusbed. Much slower and emotional that the original. And it's got a metric ton of processing going on. People who process audio files for a living and can tell say that Draiman was done without autotune at all.

Of course the original has no processing. But either this song or Bridge over Troubled Water has a great story. Art Garfunkel has said that he wanted a unique cathedral sound and they they needed to get it fast. They discovered that a hallway in the recording student would produce that wide open echo so they hauled all the equipment out in a hallway and did the song there.

I used to listen to a lot of blixx who turned a lot of pop songs into metal.

Here's another by Welsh that does smashing pumpkins over Green Day:

Never heard of him but the Africa cover was incredible, so I listened to much of the playlist on Youtube. His version of Let it Be, among others, is amazing. Thanks for the recommendation!

I actually got to meet him randomly at the Blue Moon brewery in Denver. Look, I spent a lot of years in broadcast and interviewed a lot of incredible musicians. When I walked up to him I had to admit I had a little fanboy moment.

City and Colour aka Dallas Green's solo cover of AIC's "Rain When I Die".

Mother of F this dude's voice and control is just perfect.

Funny how many AIC songs are on the list. Jerry Cantrell is an American treasure.
