Turo>car rental places
Also, the bathrooms are at the very bottom and the very top of the venue. Plan accordingly by trying to sit lower or higher, and watch beer consumption. The stairs and altitude can wear an old fat man out (learned the hard way).

It's bench seating so I wouldn't roll up there close to show time. I took a shuttle the only time I went for Midland a couple years ago, and it worked well since we didn't have a rental. Just be sure to remember which part of the venue you entered in. I know that sounds obvious, but we nearly missed the shuttle going back after taking the usher's word for it and having to walk an absurd amount back up to the correct lot. Comfortable shoes as well.

Damn. I don't like arena shows at all so hopefully I won't be wasting my time...

I'd say it's more like a large auditorium than arena. All the seating faces the front of the stage and vice versa.

Am I the only one that sees a difference in arenas and amphitheaters?

No you're right, that's what I meant on my last post too but said "auditorium" which is quite wrong

I was using arena as more of a generic placeholder for size. Red Rocks holds just under 10k, which makes it too large for me. If you like large venue shows, which obviously a lot of people do, then Red Rocks should be great for you.

It is certainly a bucket list venue, but now that I've checked that box I wouldn't go back.

I love a show where you can use 100s in your estimate. 2-4K is probably the max I want to go to, and then I'd need to get good seats in the front half.

So you only go to non popular musicians shows OR you're so damn rich you can go to private events?

I am generally into TX country, folk, and other singer-songwriters, so yes, I'm not going to nationally famous pop/rock shows that play huge venues. That is not my interest.

Brandi Carlisle, Isbell and Tedeschi Trucks Band are probably the most famous that I go to see, but I do spend extra for good seats at those shows.

It doesn't usually cost much to get close to Lyle Lovett, Todd Snider, Hayes Carll or Emmylou Harrris, etc.

Going for the first time in July had a couple questions. For my show it's like 7 rows of reserved and the rest GA. I noticed most shuttles try to get you there at DOOR time (which.l I assume is an hour before the show time ) is that early enough to grab "good" seats ?

Also in GA if I get there before my friend how kosher is it to save her a seat? Or let's say both of us go grab a drink or use the restroom -are people pretty cool about leaving the seats open or will I come back to half the space or no space ?

I like the seats that are a little higher so that I can see more of the area around Red Rocks and Denver in the distance. If a thunder storm rolls in over Denver, it's like watching a concert on another planet.

The first time my wife and I went to RR, there was a thunderstorm over Denver with pretty crazy lightning. It was an amazing backdrop for the show.
